If it's a respectful critic, I think I'd take that sort of advice such as Roeper for instance. And I think it should be obvious to credit something like AFI when they have named pretty much the four major CBMs so far such as Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, Iron Man and now The Dark Knight Rises.

But for the other ones, yes, I am quite shocked Skyfall didn't make in their respective lists as, imo, it's much of a shocker that Skyfall didn't make them and not Avengers.

Not me.
A "professional critic" might know a lot about the movie industry and what goes into a 'good' film, but that doesn't mean diddly when it actually comes to enjoying a movie. If I'm unsure about seeing a film I'd sooner come on the SHH and see what the general word is. Ask friends what they thought, etc. |

With critics(the pro's I mean) the very fact that they see so many movies tends to put them out of touch with the casual viewer who maybe only watches a dozen films a year as opposed to a critic who watches hundreds. It's an interesting catch-22.

Yah, I wouldn't mind being a film critic either, but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't agree with me

I voted TDKR because it's the only one i still find fresh on the fourth viewing in six days. The Avengers got a little boring when I realised I was more interested in Loki and Hulk than anything else, and the structure of the film limited both.

Had to go with the Amazing Spider man. It was a solid flick. TDKR was just ok and the avengers was simply bad.

I agree. Having watched them both a few times now, TDKR holds up better to multiple viewings. The Avengers is based around the spectacle of it all, so once you are used to it it doesn't have the same oomph anymore. Bruce's journey in TDKR holds more emotional weight and so it doesn't get old as quickly.

I enjoyed TDKR as a movie. I enjoyed Avengers as a comic book movie. And I think you know what I mean when I say that.

That Avengers is the lesser film because comic book movies are generally considered a "lesser" genre in the same way that horror movies and romantic comedies are?

Quite the opposite, but I see how my wording left me wide open.

At least it gives a proper version of Bane Best hero in those movie: Iron Man, he's the best most kick-arse hero on screen of 2012

Even a poll gets distorted here ![]() ![]() ![]() C'mon man. A bunch of people voted. Some liked one movie , other's like other and some other people preferred another. It's not hard to understand a friggin pool. I dont. Unless you're trying to denigrate the genre. Last edited by Tequilla; 01-06-2013 at 11:08 AM. |
