Because Fisk was going to give him information on what happened to his family. Revenge for Frank Castle was more important than beating a murder rap.

Another thing. Once a Marine, always a Marine. You seen Castle be alert for the sound of a gun being pulled back, and he was quick to take cover many times, and the one time he was quick to shield Karen from the line of fire in her apartment. So what did happen that day at the park? He was shot in the head. Was it before or after his family was shot? He remembers seeing his litter girls face shot off (which is pretty much execution style) You made some points earlier that something shady or dark was happening with Frank during his time in the desert. Maybe when he told Karen to go look for the Colonel as a character witness for him, it was really because he wanted to read the man face to face.
That had nothing to do with it. He was trying to get his defense a good character witness. You are really reading way too much into it.

This is straight from the MCU wikia synopsis:

Quote:
As Castle prepared to take the stand in the courtroom, he was approached by Roy Olsky who informed him that Wilson Fisk had information about who killed his family, information he would only get if he was sent to Ryker's Island. Castle took the stand and was questioned by Matt Murdock, who asked him to describe what happened the day that his family was killed while he also told the jury that New York City needed men like him to control the crime.
He was trying to get sent to jail so he could see Kingpin and Kingpin was going to give him intel on who killed his family.

What Kingpin really wanted though was to use Punisher as a tool to get rid of his opposition in the prison.

We'll see. I still think there is more to the story than we know. And I'm not going to go by some wikipedia page that can be edited and altered by anyone. No offense.

It's pretty simple. Kingpin bribed the guard. Convinced him to act that way in court to be held in contempt. He wanted to see Kingpin because he had information about the death of his family. That's what Frank really wanted.

He was held in contempt and thrown in prison. Kingpin then uses Frank to kill the other inmate running all the operations in the prison by manipulation. He manipulated Frank into believing it was that guy.

He was deliberately acting that way to get thrown into prison. Nothing set him off. His outburst was a way to make sure he'd be thrown in jail in order to get a meeting with Fisk.

What's the first thing Fisk says to Castle? "I see you got my message." The message was from the guard who was escorting Castle in the court. The message was "Fisk wants to meet with you. He can tell you about what happened to your family. Make a scene in the court and get held in contempt and we will get you in a room with Fisk and he will tell you what happened to them."

He was already in prison, so he didn't need to be held in contempt.

No he was in jail. He'd been charged and not formally convicted. His actions in the court had him sent to prison. Jail and prison not the same thing.

I'm pretty sure he was on Rykers Island both before and after. Granted, I thought the show was very confusing at that point with how they glossed over the conviction (they never showed it and more or less only vaguely alluded to it for a little while before you figured out that it had happened off screen). What's the nearest Prison to New York City? Sing Sing?

He wasn't on Ryker's before. When he was charged, he was in custody at a hospital. He was probably in a holding jail awaiting his trial.

The wife and I just finished rewatching both season of DD. Decided I liked season 1 better; still love season 2.

However, I found myself a little more bored with episodes involving Elektra.

Season 2, episode 3 remains my favorite of the entire series though.

Got Netflix about a month ago and just finished watching Season 1 and 2.

Love the show but I agree certain episodes that were too Elektra-centric were a little slow, although I thought the writers did a nice job of weaving her story into the overall arc along with Punisher's but still keeping Matt front and center.

Also can't believe Foggy was that kid from The Mighty Ducks. lol

Just really want to know what the hell the big hole was all about? But I've heard that may be covered in The Defenders.

question: are Jessica Jones and Luke Cage worth watching as well?

I think both are worth watching, how much you enjoy them, though, compared to Daredevil? Well, your millage may vary. Personally? I liked Luke Cage more than I liked Jessica Jones.... but - that said - I didn't like LC *quite* as much as I liked both seasons of Daredevil

I agree with Silvermoon. IMHO both shows are worth watching at least once. How you might like them as much as Daredevil your mileage may very.

Absolutely. I think JJ reaches the higher peaks and is a better show overall, but both are strong.

Cool. Thanks. Watched the first episode of JJ last night. It was decent but looked promising in terms of building up to something bigger.

JJ also has, in my opinion, one of the best MCU villains in Kilgrave.

Agreed. Tennant should have gotten an Emmy nom at least.

D'Onofrio definitely should've got one too for season one. Oh well.
