The same people who crafted Batman are now crafting Superman. The tone and setting are the same. Green Lantern doesn't matter. It definitely wouldn't have been included in any case. |

I don't see why people want Bale back so bad. He was great in the role but there are others who could do a job that's just as good, if not greater, than his performance. This will be a different interpretation of Batman, so they should start fresh with everything.

Because like it or not, for the general audience Christian Bale is Batman, just like he is to many posters on this board.
And while there may be actors who can deliver an equally good or better performance the character they play won't be as fleshed out in a Justice League franchise as compared to Christian Bale's Batman. Although he won't return I'd imagine that's why. |

The fleshing out of the character comes in time. Bale's Batman had three movies to fully develop. This will be an introduction to the new Bruce Wayne, that'll be enough until he gets his own movie.

I think Batman's sufficiently famous that the general audience gets the gist of the character. Bruce doesn't need to be fleshed out before JL.

Need a new Batman?
![]() Agreed. In fact, I wouldn't mind if Batman were to be rebooted through a JL film and continue with this version in quasi spin-off.

Keeping Bale for Justice League and the reboot would be a dream for me, but it just isnt going to happen. I've moved on, they'll cast a younger actor.
If Bale was open to working with different directors, he would be signed up for it and would enter a fantastical Gotham. The continuity wouldnt matter because there's always a way to hide an actors age or to bring him back. But i liked the way TDKR ended and any kind of "return" would be a slap in the face to that ending. Plus you would have to bring back Oldman, Caine and Freeman too if u were doing prequels to Dark Knight. So, it's time to just accept it. After all it's smart to have a young Superman and Batman at the same time, as with the other heroes. They can cast a different Bruce, switch directors, change the visual tone, bring in entirely different villains, I DONT MIND AT ALL...as long as it's not a repeat of Burton/Shumacher/Nolan and it's not an origin story. |

My two favorite suggestions would both need a can of black hair dye but I think they would both be smart casting decisions.
Charlie Hunnam(32 years old) ![]() Garret Hedlund(Almost 28 years old) ![]()

He's had my vote for a while. Perfect. We don't need to have a young Bruce for JL. I'd prefer an experienced Batman who has been a presence for years, similar to how TAS had him. He needs that maturity for the group dynamic.

I wouldn't particularly care for a 40 year old Batman to launch a franchise.

I haven't seen him in anything since Road to Perdition, and although he was really good in that, I'd have to see something more recent to be sure. But as far as looks go, he's got the best look of the younger actors being suggested. He doesn't have that weasely look that Bentley has.

B:TAS Batman was about 30-33, not 41.

Yup, Michael Fassbender could have been a great Batman, but it just couldn't be, timings were all off. Same with Hiddleston and Joker.

Fassbender would be the best choice for an older Batman.
Besides X-Men what else is on his plate?

Just make him the first hero and have the aliens pop up after. I'm not so sure a batman reboot is a sure thing as everyone claims it to be. I know most want the tone of arkham city, which to me, is basically back to burton in terms of the gothic style. Nolan cherry picked from the best story lines that the batman comics have seen. It's going to be a tough act to follow no matter what route they take. |
