Nights of Azure 2 details demon Malvasia, The Three Popes, more

More in Lilys and how you can use Tricker Servans in the field.
Gust has released new information and screenshots of Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon introducing Malvasia, otherwise known as the “Queen of the Moon,” as well as Three Popes and more information about Lily characters.
Get the details below.
? Characters
Malvasia, the “Demon / Queen of the Moon” (voiced by Yu Shimamura)
The head of the demons who emerged as a replacement for the Nightlord who disappeared. She can be sealed away by offering the “Bride of Time.” It is said that she was a calm demon in the past, but now for some reason seems to be trying to envelop the world in eternal night.
—A being that appears divine. She addresses Alushe with cold eyes and a disinterested tone.
—Malvasia brings her face close to Alushe’s as if to give her a soft kiss. However, she is thrusting her blade deep into Alushe’s chest.
The Three Popes, “The Top of the Curia” (voiced by Reiko Suzuki)
The top of the Curia, who are trying to offer up the Bride of Time in order to seal the Queen of the Moon. After reflecting on the dictatorial rule of the former pope, the new popes were established as a three-person parliamentary system to make decisions. The three popes calmly gaze at Alushe and company through the openings of their majestic outfits.
—With light shining through the stained glass behind them, the three popes give off a cold atmosphere during an audience. Even those that belong the Curia have not seen their faces.

? Bonding with Lilys
By fighting together and deepening your bonds with Lilys, Alushe’s connection with them will become stronger. Even Muveil, who is hostile towards Alushe at first, will open her heart through battle and new interactions.
A Reliable Ally to Take on a Formidable Foe
—Alushe once admired Muveil like an older sister. After becoming a demon, she targets Alushe to make her fall to the demons, but after becoming an ally, she’ll fight alongside Alushe as a reliable Lily.
Power as a Lily
As a holy knight of the Curia that fights to the bitter end, Muveil can make use of abilities that specialize in giving players an edge in battle, such as inflicting status ailments on the enemy.
—With her active skill “Battle Cry,” Muveil attracts the enemy’s attention to herself and raises her defense power.
—In order to trigger a Double Chase collaborative attack with Muveil, a fixed number of enemies must be inflicted with status ailments.
Deepening Your Bonds
By continuing to battle and performing Lily actions, the bonds between Alushe and the Lilys will deepen. What kinds of expressions will you get to see from Muveil, who did nothing but fight as a holy knight and fell to demons?
By Growing the Flowers of Two Characters, Their Hearts Will Eventually Bloom

? A Helpful Cast of Lilys
In running through the darkness of the night, Alushe will meet various girls. In addition to the bonds she was originally cultivating, the girls she will meet after becoming a half-demon will also help her as they head toward confrontation against the Queen of the Moon together.
The Power of a Reliable Lily
By Alushe and her Lily partner attacking enemies and performing cooperative actions like Double Chases and active skills, the tension gauge will rise, and when it reaches its maximum value, you can perform a Lily Burst special move.

—Here is a look at the Lily Burst with Liliana. Alushe protects Liliana while she is chanting, and her prayers call down a light from the heavens that strikes several enemies.
—Here is a look at the Lily Burst with Veruschka. After launching the enemy with their fast movements, Alushe and Veruschka combine their power to deal heavy damage to the enemy.
A Story Filled with Lilys
By raising your intimacy level with a Lily, a story between Alushe and that Lily will be told, and Lily events will occur. You can also see a sides to the Lily characters that you otherwise would not.
—The innocently delightful Eleanor. She is honest about her feelings, and Alushe is bashful around her.
—Arnice and Alushe in a beautiful flower garden. Arnice feels a sense of familiarity with Alushe due to her straightforward personality.
? The Story of Girls Who Run through the Night
In escorting her childhood friend and the saint Liliana, Alushe, and agent of the Curia, is killed by the Queen of the Moon and brought back to life as a half-demon. Alushe follows her heart and decides to defeat the Queen of the Moon.
—Carrying the blood sword in her hand, Muveil stands before Alushe. Muveil was originally a knight belonging to the same group as Alushe, and Alushe admired her as a commanding officer that bravely led her subordinates. Such a woman once left Alushe profound words. Just what has happened to Muveil?
—What is the best thing to do to save the girl who fell to demons? Camilla, who is researching half-demons, suggests one possibility. But at the same time, there is the danger that Alushe might become closer to a demon. And it seems that Camilla is also closely linked to Muveil.
—While Muveil weighed on her mind, Alushe moves on ahead in order to obtain information on the Queen of the Moon. Along the way, Christophorus appears again before her. A “demon of purity,” Alushe is able to tell that Christophorus is not involved with the Queen of the Moon.

—On her journey to find the Queen of the Moon, Alushe and Muveil finally confront each other. No doubt can be seen in their straightforward gaze. Carrying the same blood sword, and keeping the promise she made with the Muveil she admired like an older sister close to her chest, Alushe commences the battle.
—Alushe, who has overcome numerous battles, relaxes her mind by messing around with two of her childhood friends like they once did in the past. What could Veruschka be thinking as she stares at them from a distance?
—Alushe has no free time to stand still. Numerous obstacles await her in the long road she has to travel. Supported by her allies, Alushe will continue to fight in order to defeat the Queen of the Moon.
? The Abilities of “Tricker” Servans
“Tricker” Servans can reduce Alushe’s MP, consume MP to perform Servan actions, perform unique special actions on the field. These Servans will play an active role in various situations, including proceeding the battle more advantageously and opening new paths.
—Shalf, the thunder wolf Servan, can manipulate electricity from within its body. In addition to using this power in battle in ways such as sending electricity through the water fountain to paralyze and deal damage to surrounding enemies, it can also be used to solve field puzzles.
—Falfara is a butterfly Servan with elegant, shining wings. It can pick up Alushe, allowing her to jump high and reach high locations.

Nights of Azure 2 details main cast, Servans, pre-order bonuses, and European limited edition

Koei Tecmo has shared new information, video, and screenshots of Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, which detail the game’s main cast of characters, Servans, pre-order bonuses, and a European limited edition.

Get the details below.

Characters
When the evil Moon Queen threatens humanity, the young priestess Liliana is destined to become the Bride of Time, a sacrifice to save the world. This brings her two best friends at odds and during their altercation Aluche, the protagonist, is killed by a mysterious demon.
Aluche is resurrected some time later as a half-demon hybrid and, still struggling to come to terms with her new abilities, sets off to the ruined city of Eurulm, the girls’ hometown, to discover Ruenheid battling a swarm of fiends. Reunited beyond all hope, the pair decides to put aside their differences and fight for a joint cause: to save Liliana and defeat the Moon Queen.

On their perilous quest Aluche and Ruenheid are assisted by a unique bouquet of allies including the mysterious New Curian doctor Camilla Alucard, Aluche’s role model and ex-Curian Knight, Muveil Folin Lou, a half-demon assassin, Veruschka, and the powerful Nightlord, Arnice. Fighting alongside these ‘Lilies’ sows the seeds of unlikely friendships that blossom into unbreakable bonds and awaken impressive latent abilities for all characters.

Servans
Human companions are not the only ones to help in the war against the Moon Queen, as Aluche is also able to forge contracts with reliable fiends known as Servans, like her long-time friend, Nero, the electrifying mutt, Scharf, the fairy-like companion, Feuille, the Shikigami wielding Kaede, the beautiful butterfly, Farfalla, a shadowy fiend, Hexer, and the dolphin-shaped, Perle. These Servans are classed in two categories: Strikers who are used specifically for their strong attacks and ability to transform into weapons, and Trickers who can use their powers in the overworld to remove blockades and open up new paths!

Pre-Orders

To showcase Aluche’s trusted companions and offer a deeper look into the game’s dark, treacherous world, Koei Tecmo released an all-new trailer and a rich selection of new assets, including images of the bonus DLC available to those who pre-order Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon on both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 via participating retailers. Specifically, pre-orders will receive a special pack of bonus content that includes three Servans and a special costume for Aluche. Players who purchase the game digitally via the PlayStation Network within the first four weeks following launch will receive an exclusive Custom Theme as well as the bonus DLC provided by retailers!

Pre-ordering both upcoming Gust Studios titles – Blue Reflection and Nights of Azure 2 – will unlock special collaboration costumes for both games. Aluche of Nights of Azure 2 will receive Hinako’s outfit from Blue Reflection, and Hinako of Blue Reflection will receive Aluche’s outfit from Nights of Azure 2. Players can obtain the DLC bonuses from both games either through pre-ordering retail versions and/or purchasing each title digitally during their respective early purchase periods.

European Limited Edition
(A North American limited edition was previously announced.)
Lastly, for the most devoted fans, a Limited Edition version will be available via the NIS America Europe Online Store from Thursday 20th July 2017 at 12pm noon BST, including a hardcover Art Book, three beautiful cloth posters, an Official Soundtrack CD, the bonus pre-order DLC, and a physical copy of the game in a stunning Collectors’ Box.

Nights Of Azure 2 Goes Over Aluche’s Battle Styles. July 19, 2017 . 10:00am

In Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, Aluche can use multiple battle styles that vary depending on which Servans she is using and Lilies she has fighting by her side.

Start a discussion! Read >

Quote:

Our half-demon heroine has a number of different ways to fight against the monsters of the night in Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon. Players will be able to go with a number of different battle styles, depending on what Aluche has equipped and which Lilies, human(-ish) allies and Servans she is currently working with. This allows people to customize fights to their liking.

Koei Tecmo has offered information on three of these battle styles. Assault Style is one that focuses on Striker weapons like great swords, lances, and pile bunkers. It is designed to accommodate a constant and major assault with weapons that have a large range and do a lot of damage. Recommended Lilies for this style are Camilla, who can heal her when she’s stunned, and Liliana, who can revive her once. The Lily Cooperation Style is about working together with Lilies to pull off Double Chases, Lily Bursts, Lily Skills and increase the current Lily’s level. Arnice, Ruenheid, and Veruschka are three offensive Lilies that work well with this battle style. The Advantage from Disadvantage Style relies on the Blood Sword to attack, which means Aluche’s health will be low and attack power will be high. Eleanor, with her buffs and debuffs, and Muveil, with her ability to attract and halt enemies, are good Lilies to use with this style.

In addition to battle style details, more information on Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon’s areas, Servans, and one enemy have been released. Aluche will find herself in Yuralm, the abandoned capital city where she grew up with Liliana and Ruenheid, the Espheria Royal Academy the three girls attended, Yuralm’s Hotel Eterna, the Holy Forest, a Hidden Mine near Yuralm, and the Frozen Moon Palace. Perhaps she will fight Malavasia’s 2nd Form, an angelic appearance the demon takes during her fight with Aluche, in one of these spots.

The newly revealed Striker-type Servans are as follows:
  • Alice the Doll, who becomes a Mirror Shield that can fire a beam when charged.
  • Dump the Machine Golem, who becomes a Pile Bunker that might paralyze an enemy, but greatly reduces Aluche’s attack and speed.
  • Duul the Lizardman, who becomes a Lance that is good at dealing high DPS.
  • Eir the Phoenix, who becomes a Great Sword with a fire attribute.
  • Grantz the Crystal Golem, who becomes a Crystal Sword that might occasionally freeze an opponent.
  • Pitz the Bee, who becomes a speedy Partisan.
In addition, the Vor Trickster-type Servan, appears to help boost Aluche’s attack and speed.

In Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, players will encounter a number of unique and dastardly fiends and will have to rely on their close bonds with their companions to emerge victorious. The battle party will always be comprised of Aluche, the player’s character, an NPC of her choice, and up to two Servans. Aluche’s Servan allies are also useful assets to the team, with their incredible Servan Actions, which can help turn the tide of battle in her favor! The invaluable Tricker types are able to gain an advantage by unleashing their elemental abilities, dealing critical status effects to their foes. One such Tricker is the mighty canine companion, Scharf, who sends electrified spheres onto the battlefield to paralyze and inflict lasting damage on enemies! Trickers can change form as they evolve, and can grow more powerful through Reincarnation, which drastically increases their stats, allowing them to access new types of attacks and unlock incredible abilities.
As for the player-controlled Aluche, she soon discovers that the blood of slain fiends can be used to heighten her body’s strength, and players are able to choose new abilities fitting their preferred play-style from a wide selection of varied combat styles!

Nights of Azure 2 details battle system, post-launch bonuses

Koei Tecmo has shared new information, video, and screenshots of Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, which detail the game’s battle system, including a new Servan type which will aid players during battle, and post-launch bonuses.
Get the details below.
Battle System
As Aluche and her battle party set off on their journey to defeat the Moon Queen, they will encounter a variety of devious and dastardly demons; some of which mean to bring them harm and others which wish to join them on their quest. The mighty Striker type Servans are invaluable assets to any battle party, transforming from their demonic forms to powerful weapons which Aluche can wield in battle. Controlling the Striker type opens up a plethora of abilities to aid in combat situations, improving Aluche’s skills in either long range or close combat depending on which particular Servan she relies upon.

Making the most of the eccentric cast of human and demonic companions is incredibly important in securing victory, and players will be able to choose their dream battle party to give them a selection of unique abilities. The beautiful Lilies are able to perform an impressive combination attack with Aluche, Double Chase. When requirements in battle are met this attack can quickly change the tide of the fight, causing overwhelming damage to anyone in its path. Active Skills, used by Aluche, and Special Skills, activated by the Lilies, can also offer a boost to Aluche’s team in the form of increased health, attack or defense.

Amidst the waves of demons which plague the land are large fiends — devastating boss creatures which will require Aluche and company to utilize not only their innermost strength, but the environments around them as well. Breaking barrels of flammable liquid, for example, can be used to coat the enemy in flame accelerant so that an elemental fire attack will do considerably more damage! Aluche will encounter a unique selection of bosses from Vallderossa, a giant spider which uses its webs to fight, to the Blue-Blooded Fish Joe, which hides underground waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Post-Launch Bonuses

A selection of post-launch bonuses were also announced today for players who purchase Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon within three months from launch. On the Nintendo Switch players will receive a free download for the Fatal Frame Yuri Kozukata Outfit, whilst those on the PlayStation 4 will obtain the Deception Timenoid Restrains Costume.
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon will launch for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Switch in Japan on August 31, and for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on October 24 in North America and October 27 in Europe.
