I liked the voice actor they used in the silver surfer cartoon.

That's what I'm hoping. He had some of the coolest lines/moments in the show.

Eh... just listened to the VA. Compared to Darkseid, he kinda sounds, I can't find the right word, nerdy?

Thanos' voice actor should be like the living incarnation of gravel.

In the silver surfer cartoon he was very articulate and sounded good to me. How about Keith David or Micheal Dorn for thanos then. Too bad Odin is done by Clany Brown he would have been good.

Keith David would be great. Anyone remember how he played Thailog on Gargoyles? He made his voice sound somehow more sinister and ragged. That would be cool for Thanos.

Or if they could convince Kevin Grevioux to do it, that'd be cool too. He's into comics anyway...

Keith David as Thanos would be cool. I wouldn't be against having Ron Perlman, Gary Chalk or Ron Perlman as Thanos either.

That is Kevin Conroy as Leonard Samson, right?

I liked Keith David as Goliath more. Loved that show. So many star trek actors doing vo for it too.
when I first heard Kevin in underworld I thought his voice was enhanced for his role as a lycan. Then I saw the bts and was like WTF he talks like that. How about Avery Brooks his voice is also good.

Yeah, he'd be good too. Ooh, or Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince. He voiced the Shredder in the '80s TMNT cartoon and he could probably make his voice very gravelly and scary if he played it serious.

So, basically, what I'm getting out of this conversation is that Thanos is, in our collective fanboy hive-mind, a large and imposing black man. Not really sure what to make of that...

Nah, I don't think so. Black guys, in my experience, tend to have deeper voices than white guys in general. We're all thinking of deep, booming, gravelly voices for Thanos, so it kind of lends itself to thoughts of all these other deep, gravelly-voiced characters who, low and behold, turn out to have been voiced mainly by black dudes.

We did mention some white guys in there too Clancy brown is Odin so he is out. Chalk still reminds me of optimus and pearlman reminds me of hellboy. They will probably just get Fred tatasciore to do it.

Chalk doesn't do villains too well to me. Maybe I'm confusing him with the various Optimuses he's played, but I always get a really noble, heroic tone out of his voice. Tatasciore or Pearlman would be good, though.

I figure rather than get new voice actors they will just use the ones they got like tatasciore.

Jeff Combs as Leader is very excellent casting. Even if, as the Question, he did prove he could play an eccentric hero.

This is really a Loki episode, showcasing how he has been manipulating events for some time, at least to manipulate Thor. It was revealed that he was the one who hired the Wrecking Crew (who in the comics, he empowered) to steal the gamma-generator at the docks (posing as the Leader, who is apparently still in prison as per Banner's last episode), and incited the Frost Giants to attack Asgard. The Enchantress posed as a mortal to make sure Thor got to that fight (and met Jane Foster), and she even posed as Balder to try to manipulate Odin. She, and her thug/lover Skurge the Executioner, went to the Isle of Silence (the corner that Odin told Loki to sit in) to free him.

Kari Wahlgren (spelling?) voices Enchantress and naturally does a solid job. As usual, she is Loki's ally, but does seem to have feelings for Thor, to the point that she felt guilty when Loki gushed how he "ALWAYS believes you". Ah, that Thunderer; the pimp of Asgard. Sif, Amora, Foster...and Stark gets the ladykiller status! It's all about the hammer.

This world of AVENGERS: WGH really does feel like a 21st century version of how things were as Marvel was unfolding in the early 60's. There are innovations from the films or Ultimate but they're the exceptions to the rule and 616 stuff is the foundation. It's been bad-ass.

Before these mini episodes started, I was curious how Yost would handle running a show by himself as main story editor/writer guy. At this point, I'm thinking he should have been running his own show years ago.

Good episode. I'm glad there's more to Loki's plan than stomping into Asgard and getting his ass kicked. Nice to see the Enchantress and the Executioner, too. Good setup for the inevitable Masters of Evil plot later on. I love that the Enchantress and Loki are seemingly uber-powerful spellcasters, too. Gives me hope for some awesome Dr. Strange or other magic-types' cameos at some point.

Also, FYI, Dread, it was Karnilla who empowered the Wrecker in the comics. It was an accident, though; she thought she was boosting Loki's power after Odin took his own powers away.

Oh, and it was Loki who posed as Balder.

Was that really Nolan North as Balder (albeit fake Balder)? I swear that sounded nothing like North as we know him. Kind of makes one wonder what he'll sound like as Superman on "Young Justice" - when not voicing Connor Kent.

Was that supposed to be Nolan North? I didn't recognize his voice at all.

Speaking of that scene, I wonder if Odin will eventually lose an eye. Not as cool as plucking it out himself for knowledge, granted, but at least he'd be his proper, one-eyed self. Or maybe they didn't want to steal Nick Fury's schtick.
