Barbara- can't sleep?
Jim Gordon- I'm thinking about quiting Barbara.
Maybe becoming a school teacher.

Barbara- What's going on? I thought Detective is what you always wanted.
Jim Gordon- I think the whole department is tied up in the mob
Barbara- You know better than anybody how bad this city is Jim.
Isn't that why you became a cop?...
Jim Gordon- Barbara...someone has been stalking the house
I saw them flee from the fire escape last night.
Barbara- What!? Did you see his face?
Jim Gordon- No I couldn't see anything.
Barbara i'm scared for you and the kids.
Barbara - and you think it's the Department?
Jim Gordon- Or the Mob...Either way we're not safe here.
Barbara-J Jim you haven't failed this family yet we can't give up now.
Jim Gordon- but what if I can't protect you?
Barbara- well then we will just need someone else to protect us then.

Falcone- What the hell happend to these two!?
I thought I told you to send them to kill Gordon.
RightHand- I did sir. when we went to pick them up we found them like this
Falcone- Gordon did this!??
RightHand- We don't think so..we think it was someone else maybe a hired bodyguard...we're not sure
Falcone- you don't think Gordon hired "The Snake" do you?
Righthand- The guys claim this guy was too fast to be The Snake and too well equipped
Falcone- Jesus Christ...who the hell are we dealing with here?.....
First thing tommorow find out what hole in the ground The Snake is hiding in so
I can have a word with him.

Scene Gotham City Police Station

Police Commissioner Bradley
Head Detective Stanley
Police Commissioner Bradley Addresses the room full of police officers

Com- Good morning detectives. I just want start off by saying that thanks to your hard
work we have gathered enough intelligence to take down Falcone.
You all will be briefed this afternoon on the takedown strategy.
so no takin any long lunches today.
Alright Stanley, what do you have for me?
HeadDet- Well no new news is out on "The Jewel Bandit" except he hit three
more targets in east Gotham..No witnesses, No fingerprints, and all
alarms and securtiy cameras were cut. We will need more men on this case
if no reports of the stolen "Coral Ring Diamond" surface.
Com- We need to make this one of our top priorities. The papers have been on
our ass for weeks to catch this guy and it makes this police force look bad
when we know nothing about him. Detective Custline. I want you hitting the
narrows....see what you can pull up....alright now what do you have on
the reports that somone is out there beating up mob bosses and street dealers?
HeadDet- Nothing yet sir. There have been spuratic reports of everything from demons,
ninjas, giant bats, and ghosts. With most of the witnesses being criminals or homeless
it's hard to know where to start.
Com- Gordon?
Gordon- Yes sir?
Com- what do you make of this?
Gordon- Well sir...i'm not sure..It could be some sort of a code for the mob.
Com- Code?
Gordon- Everywhere a drug dealer or mob soldier reports seeing a night creature it could be a drop
point. Ghost could mean cops. Bat could mean nightime...that sort of thing.
Chief- Ok Gordon. I want you on this. I want you to find out everything you can
about this Night Prowler thing. You take one of these men with you and find
me something..anything.
Gordon- Yes sir.
Chief- Alright. Now the rest of us need to figure out where "the snake" has been hiding out.
we need to make sure we have him in custody before we move in on Falcone. We don't
need him running around wacking off cops if Falcone suspects a take down. We will cover
this in todays afternoon briefing.

Detective Cochin

Detective- if it's a code...where do we start?
Gordon- we interview the last person to see our reported dark knight
Detective- this should be intresting
The cops pull down an alley known for heavy gang activity. and pull up to a group of gang memebers
Gordon- good afternoon gentleman....which one of you is Tyler "Pacman" Elliot?
Gangmember- he aint here
Cochin- how about you tell us where he is at or we're going to haul your ass to jail and
pin an unsolved murder over your head...what you think about that big
shot?
Gangmember- crooked cop huh?
Detective- It's Gotham kid...we're all crooked
Gangmember- I really don't know where he is man....after that Black Hooded dude
beat the hell out of pacman and his crew...he split..said he was leaving
Gotham.
Gordon- Did you get a look at this individual?
Gangmember- nah man he took the whole crew down in a matter of minutes. this
was one scary lookin dude i didn't think he was human at first but when
he asked pacman something i could tell by his voice he was human.
Detective- did you make what he said?
Gangmember- nah man I got the hell out of there.
Gordon- alright i appreciate your time gentlemen
Gangmember- we NEVER had this conversation...please man I told you everything i know.
Gordon- stay out of trouble
　
Gordon and Detective Cochin back in the car

Cochin- so you believe him?
Gordon- don't you? didn't you see the fear in his eyes?
if this man in black is mob hired none of these street
punks are aware of it.
Cochin- so you think our night stalker is some former CIA hitman that the Don hired
to keep his lower level thugs in line?
Gordon- I have no idea. we will have to go talk to one of the mob bosses who supposely got attacked
by our dark masked friend
　
　
Gordon and Detective Cochin at Hotel Lobby meet up with the mob boss Tony Safety

Gordon- the famous Tony Safety...
Cochin- I heard you got roughed up by some ninja or something.
I thought nobody could rough up Tony Safety...
except for maybe Tony's Wife
Tony- what are you doing here wise guys? you going to try and arrest me?
if you are...I think we all know how that's going to end up.
Gordon- is that a threat Tony?
Tony- don't think for one minute you can touch me.
Cochin- we are here to talk about you getting your ass kicked a couple weeks ago.
Gordon- we heard that a hooded indivdual roughed you and your crew
up pretty bad. Of course we don't believe you...we think you guys made this up
as a way to move your drugs freely throughout the city.
Tony- this is Gotham guys....we never have trouble moving drugs throughout the city.
Gordon- If you aren't making up these attacks than tell us what happend..
Tony- We were closing up the Hotel and me and my crew were standing back here. I didn't
get a good look at him but he came down from the roof up there and dropped a smoke bomb.
Before i knew what was going he had us all tied up. Then that bastard broke into my hotel
and turned my whole office upside down.
Cochin- Hadn't you already locked up the hotel? How did he get in with out setting off the alarm?
Tony- One of the guys said they saw him pull out this electronic system scrambler or something to jam
the alarm system. I'm not exactly sure. The ground was still smokey.
Gordon- You wanna know what I don't get Tony?
Your whole sleazy organization prides itself on power and revenge but you don't seem the slighest
bit determined to catch this guy. why is that?
Tony- oh i get it. you came down here to talk to me about "The Snake"
I was wondering why you guys came down here. you are wasting your time.
one of your detectives already came down here looking for "Snake"
Gordon- and let me guess.. you don't know where he is
Tony- If i knew where to find him he would be making a mess of your city looking for that hooded
bastard
Gordon- rumor has it that that hooded bastard is "The Snake" and that some other drug cartel hired
him to push you around
Tony- hahaha you're good Gordon. I'm only going to tell you this one more time....I DONT KNOW
WHERE HE IS. I suggest you boys find a new lead. Have a nice day gentlemen

Cochin- so where do we go from here?
Gordon- Tony said that our hooded culprit used a computer to scramble Tony's
hotel security. He also said that our winged figure jumped from the roof
Cochin- That seems abit far fatched. how tall do you suppose this hotel is? 10? 12 stories?
Gordon- i can only assume it was some sort of retractable parachute.
Cochin- how much you suppose one of those costs?
Gordon- enough to only draw the attention of the desperate and the wealthy.
Cochin- how do we narrow it down?
Gordon- we go to the city auction tomorrow night at Mark Rooney's plaza. every dollar in
Gotham will be there tonight.

Chief- Gordon and Cochin so nice of you to finally join us
have a seat we are about to start. By the Way what did you find out?
Gordon- well sir we believe that the incidents were legitament attacks. that they weren't
mob code as we previously thought.
Chief- Mob rivals?
Gordon- Not sure. Hopefully we will get more answers Tomorrow at the city auction.
Chief- I want to hear more about this later....alright guys settle down. We hit a big
wall today. The take down of Falcone will be delayed. Earlier this morning your
chief detective was unable to locate "The Snake". We think he might of fled town
or someone might have finally taken care of him. This is a major set back considering
he was the key to insuring the prosecution of Falcone. What does this mean? It means
24 hours surveilance on every known location and buisness association The Snake has
had in the last 6 months. We can't let up guys. I want a small team positioned in Arkham
at all times. We figure that is the most likely place for The Snake to resurface. As for tomorrow
i'm going to assemble a small group of lead detectives for The City Auction. Every rich man in
Gotham will be there including Falcone. Do to our set back this morning we can't afford to let
Falcone know we are about to move in on him. That means everbody must act as if nothing has
changed. I understand Custline has reason to suspect our Jewel Bandit will make an appearance
tomorrow night.
Custline- Well as I informed Chief earlier today..we think that the Bandit is set to strike tomorrow night at
the city auction. There is expected to be upwards of 68 million in cash and over 50 million in
merchandice. If this bandit wants to prove he is as good as he thinks he his.. he won't miss this oppurtunity to rub our faces in it. From our research we expect him to be well dressed and alittle
bit distant from the rest of the party goers. It is likely he won't want to draw any attention himself. So those of us who are going to keep a look out fo for those things.
CHeifDet- Everybody get that? good. Alright now Gordon... I understand you suspect our hooded attacker
will also be out there tomorrow evening.
Gordon- yes sir I do
ChiefDet- what leads you to that conclusion?
Gordon- I got a huntch
ChiefDet- Ok well I have one of the officers setting up a few interviews for you Gordon. Now I don't want
you leaning on these guys. We are sniffing around not starting an interrogation. That goes for
everybody. Now it is unlikely we find anything on the "Jewel Bandit" or the "Hooded Man" so I
want you guys to keep your ears open for anything about Falcone that might be useful in leading
to his arrest. Alright you guys are dismissed
