I think we'll get the classic Godzilla who is the protectant of the Earth.
He'll be neither good nor evil toward humans. Just indifferent.
Got a feeling the worlds militaries will be siding with Godzilla at some point, and he'll accept the help ( by accepting their help I mean he wont destroy them ). The old classic ''the enemy of my enemy is my friend'' bit..

Its too bad they couldnt have connected this with PR somehow.

I think if he sees the military attacking the monsters he's fighting as opposed to him, that would probably be the best way to go about it.

Honestly, for the first installment of a reboot, I would prefer to see Godzilla solo wreaking destruction. But oh well.

I hope he's a force of primal destruction and not a "hero". Maybe the (slightly) lesser of two "evils".

It was already said that Godzilla will fight at least 2 NEW kaiju as Toho owns all the rights to Ghidorah, Mothra, etc...so that's not gonna happen, LOLs.

Legendary already plunked down a lot of money just to use the rights (licensing fee) for Godzilla.

Actually, the "Classic Godzilla" was NOT the "Protector Of The Earth". He was a monster, accidentally created during an atomic experiment that went on a rampage through Japan. They didn't start depicting him as "Protector Of The Earth" until the sequels, which (as is typical of sequels) got cheesier and of worse quality with each instalment. Godzilla 1985 was pretty much the only sequel that got it right.

But since in has apparently been established that Godzilla will be fighting other monsters, then I agree with the rest of your post.

It's too bad they had to wait so long to get this movie made. When it was originally scheduled for a 2013 release, I thought it would be a cool idea if Godzilla were the force of destruction which destroys the Earth that the Mayans had predicted. Oh well.

In terms of Godzilla fighting other monsters, I'd like it if they took some inspiration from Godzilla vs The Destroyer (I refuse to use that other spelling) with the other villain just so happening to be emerging while Godzilla is the primary antagonistic force until they collide.

Last thing I want to see is Godzilla as an actual hero, if he's just caught in the crossfire and decides to fight the other monsters that's fine with me.

I hope this comes with a great Godzilla video game. I didn't get a chance to play destroy all monsters and I have fond memories of the game "rampage"

Godzilla trolls a Japanese fishing village:

There are also pictures on CBM showing a Japanese school.
