I wanted to be a Volcanologist, I still want to be a volcanologist, and darn it I'm well on my way to becoming one. The only problem is now I know all the political and economical crap that one has to put up with being one.

What makes CDs/MP3s/Digital "easier" is the amount of selection and the freedom to have what you want at the touch of a button versus having to dig through a crate of records for the one track that you want to play/scratch/manipulate. There are alternatives like Serato Scratch Live which enable someone to load an MP3 onto a vinyl record using their laptop, this emulates the feel of a traditional turntable while still taking advantage of the large music MP3 libaries we are able to download.
Now, when it comes to turntablism, the same set of skills for scratching/juggling on a traditional turntable and mixer setup applies toward a CD/MIDI controller setup. If you can't scratch on a traditional turntable, you're going to sound just as crappy on a CD/MIDI controller setup.

I've wanted to be a car since I was five years old and that's been my dream ever since. But everyone kept putting me down around the age of 13 saying un-motivational crap like "What!? No, you can't be a car. You're a human being." and "Jesus Christ, how old are you!?"
So I decided to pursue other interests but every night in secret, I go out and talk to cars and ask them how they managed to make it. I've noticed they often get shy and drive away when their owners are inside them and I've promised myself I wouldn't be that type of car. Just the other day I was practicing turning into a car at an unoccupied parking spot when the police stopped me and took me to a near by mental hospital. My family came in weeping and crying asking me why I'm still doing this. I know they're concerned but they're not stopping me from achieving my dream. I. Am. A. Car.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a film director or an author/screenwriter. A large part of me still wants to pursue something in proximity of that field, like after college I might pursue a career somewhere in the entertainment industry, even if it's not as much of a creative one (i.e. corporate part a film studio, not as creative as a writer, but still in a close field).
But I'm still in my last year of high school, I've kept up on my work (should graduate with around a 4.3 gpa) and now I've just gotta wait on what colleges I can get into (and, perhaps more importantly, what kind of grants and scholarships I can squeeze out of them). Just have to see what happens, I guess. |

My 3rd grade teacher commended me for saying "Biologist." I'm trying to aim myself towards architecture, when I really want to do promotional art and graphic design.

At First I wanted to be a physicist
When I entered High School I wanted to be a Biochemist. In my Junior year I decided I wanted to be a linguist, which I am studying to be. But I also want to be a Rabbi. Honestly, I wish I could be all 4. But sadly, the days of the Renaissance man are over. |
