Put it this way, if people had no idea who Arnold was, and he voiced Freeze in an animated film, I bet a lot of people would find his Austrain dialect to be an interesting take on the character. But as is, a lot of people might complain that the actor was bigger than the role, and they might not see past that, hearing only Arnold instead of Freeze.

I wouldn't find his accent anymore radical than when Otto Preminger played him in the Old TV series.

While I do agree that it would be easier to stomach as an animated film, I don't think it would be as embraced as you are suggesting. Oh well, that is why this is the Unpopular Opinion thread. We all say stuff some or most others on the boards won't agree with.

Yeah, there you go, with Arnold though, he is *so* famous and his voice being so distinctive, I think you might you hear him rather than Freeze, per se.

I think as an animated film B&R would be far more embraced than the MrFreeze animated movie we got, which was very disapointing imo, Batman was barely in the film.

Oh yeah, that one was pretty bad. Well, maybe not BAD, but not good. Definitely on the lower end of DC's animated films that I have seen.

The funny thing is, they postponed the release of that animated movie until '98, because they did not want it associated with '97 live action film. And, in many ways(apart from the quality of the animation) it was worse.

None really come to mind, but just the overall design of Gotham. BTAS was created as a tie-in to the Burton films, even though they aren't the same universe. See also:

Yeah, we all know this, any batman fan worth his salt anyway. But you were trying to pose a diametrically opposed opinion to mine, as BR is generally regarded as the darkest movie of that series, while B&R is the lightweight one. So, that's why I asked what episodes you would equate with BR's story. As of course, if B&R was animated in the style of BTAS, it would automatically take on physical attributes influenced by the Burton films.
So, this is not what you were talking about originally, and is not really relevant to what I was saying.

Batman and Robin shares more in common with the 1960's Adam West series than it does with BTAS.

A scene like MrFreeze leading his gang singing, yes, I will give you that, but I think for the most part that is a big myth.
B&R is played pretty staright for the most part, but it is just very dull, and an inferior re-tread of Batman Forever.
What it has in common with BTAS is that it is ultimately a very harmless Batman tale, I don't even recall any good people dying in the film, they are frozen and then released(we are led to assume), just as people are tainted by Joker gas in the cartoon, but always ultimately saved.

Adam West BM is hamrless too, but it is constantly played for laughs, B&R is not, apart from a few ice-puns here and there, and how could i forget, the bat-credit card.

Some of the BTAS eps would be dull too if not for the style of animation, but there are lots that are well written tales as well.

Danny DeVito is the best Penguin ever, maybe the only good Penguin actually

I guess this may be unpopular then. Part of the reason I didn't like Batman Returns was because of Penguin. I just don't like the character, he's lame to me, and Danny DeVito did nothing to change my mind.

Best thing about the movie for me was Bruce and Selina's interaction.

Probably the most interesting relationship between Batman and any villain in any Batman film tbh

For me nobody tops Burgess Meredith. The only actor to play The Penguin properly.

Jack Black should have gotten a best actor nomination for Bernie and Jake Gyllenhaal as well for End of Watch.

To each their own, but personally I was more impressed with his work in Rocky.

I don't care about the Penguin character either at all (I'm all about the Joker),
that's why I though that what Burton and DeVito did with it was interesting. Closer to Todd Browning than the comics.
