Yes and I'm seriously thinking I placed DoFP too high. I liked it fine when I first saw it but recently due to the Quicksilver issue I've been going over plot points in the film and it's been degrading rapidly for me. Like the whole thing with going to get Eric in the Pentagon at all was completely a waste of time that only happened for it's own sake so Magneto could still be a part of the story. Charles and Eric in the future should have known better and just had Logan leave him where he was. He did nothing but add conflict and difficulty to their mission. Now I'm all for conflict and such in a movie but not when it could so easily have been avoided and SHOULD have been given the protagonist's knowledge of the future as an asset in their arsenal. Plus Charles's whole "I can walk but I lose my powers" thing is incredibly convenient especially when you realize that he could solve this whole issue of the movie in 5 seconds if it wasn't like this. And there's lots more but I don't have time to list them all here, nor the patience really. It's still an OK movie but FOX's 'we don't give a fig about continuity, and we especially don't care about source material faithfulness to the spirit of what we are adapting' mentality is really biting them in the ass and making me not even care about giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Well I cannot wait for you to rank Ant-Man and all phase 3 films above the best X-Men and Spider-Man films. I'm you would have enough reasons to say why they are all superior. Its your opinion anyway.

Opinion is all these things ever are. Now I don't know Ant-Man will be better than all the FOX and Sony made Marvel films yet but after 11 successes in a row plus 3 TV show successes, I'm inclined to expect that it'll be better than them. Although the new Spider-man films might actually stand a chance of being good or even great now as we move forward. I thought 3 of them were...ok. That's about the best I can give them. X-Men have 4 that are ok, so far.

This a ranking of my personal favorite MCU films. I find these to have the most re-watchability or most fun moments.
  1. The Avengers: Age of Ultron
  2. The Avengers
  3. Iron Man 3
  4. Iron Man
  5. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  6. Guardians of the Galaxy
  7. Iron Man 2
  8. Captain America: The First Avenger
  9. Thor
  10. Thor: The Dark World
  11. The Incredible Hulk

This is very different than a list of the best-quality films I think they've made. Winter Soldier, Guardians, and Avengers would top that list.

I'm an odd duck I suppose. But I do like comic films that unashamedly embrace their comic roots and tend to prefer nobler heroes like Thor and Cap over arrogant douchebag types like Tony Stark. Stark's growing on me though.

As far as DOFP, I don't want to rip it too much because I know people like the film. I thought the acting was great and the direction helped to elevate it but the story was just terrible. To me DOFP was nothing more than glorified continuity doctoring with a ridiculous plot that made no sense. A mutant killing one person is enough to justify the Sentinel program but Magneto can lift an entire freaking stadium and that doesn't bother anybody. Yep shut down the program. Mutants aren't dangerous after all. And why Mystique anyway? Using Rogue's DNA to develop the Sentinels would have actually made sense. And Xavier giving up his psychic powers so he could walk as if one has anything to do with the other - it was just a contrived plot device. Couldn't stand Quicksilver. Had one visually cool sequence but was nothing like the character from the comics and ridiculously overpowered. He could have solved the final conflict instantly but they removed him from the story without any justification making his inclusion feel even more tacked on. Beast bugged me too. He's not the Hulk. Kitty Pryde can send people through time now??? And in the end nothing matters. Just hit the reset button and everything's fine - all neatly tied up with a bow on it. But we get to see the X-Men killed in gruesome ways to artificially raise the stakes but there are no stakes. Even the events of past movies are erased from existence.

I absolutely loved X2 and was pleasantly surprised by First Class but sorry just not a fan of DOFP.

I don't know how I missed this post but I agree with it completely.

X2 and maybe First Class are the only great CBMs that Fox has made (that I have seen - still haven't watched Wolverine and not sure if I will after seeing what they did with Viper and Silver Samurai as a robot exoskeleton whatever). But DOFP is not one of the "greats". I do like the first X-Men also but don't rate it as highly. I also do not loathe X-Men: The Last Stand like many people but the so called "worst" MCU film is light years ahead of it in my opinion.
