Same, I thought it was okay (but then I was 10 when it came out).

Yeah, Sheryl Crow's is godawful. And I hate that they stuffed k.d. lang's much better version in the end credits.

If they had switched the two songs around, then it would have worked better imo.

Oh yeah, Lang's version was actually really good. I don't know why they never chose that over Crow's.

From what I read, that was a last minute change to the film too. If you notice, kd lang's theme shows up in the score throughout the movie while Sheryl Crow's theme is only in the opening credits.

Apparently they saw Crowe as being more "marketable," by which they mean code for "more conventionally pretty/attractive." At least that's the story that I've always heard.

I don't know if KD Lang's version is much better. It sounds like a complete pastiche (which is what Brosnan's Bond is anyway) and just a rip-off of the earlier themes by Shirley Bassey. It sounds like the cliched sort thing someone would come up with for a parody.

Let me know when they make James into Jane Bond with Emily Blunt.

Meh. I'd much rather have Laverne Cox's Shaft...

KD Lang's song was much better by a mile than Crow's.

And this is from a big Sheryl Crow fan who bought Tuesday Club when it came out in the 90s.

It may have been sotto Bassey, but it was a much catchier song with a better vocal performance.

Garbage's TWINE theme isn't one of the better ones imo, but its better than Crow's TND.

The other one you mentioned "The Man with the Golden Gun" had a version by Alice Cooper that was much better than the one by Lulu that they chose to put in the actual film instead.

My favorite Bond songs are Goldfinger, Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does It Better, Goldeneye, You Know My Name, and Skyfall.

I really don't care for The Man with the Golden Gun, All Time High, Licence to Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day, Another Way to Die, and Writing on the Wall.

Or Harry Styles.

Who actually wouldn't be so bad if he did it in the style of 'sign of the times'

Why are people suddenly suggesting Harry for everything? He's the new Chris Nolan.

And don't say it's because of Dunkirk because he couldn't possibly be that good.

At least get Zayn if you want to get a directioner

Harry Styles for Bond? That would definitely one-up Madonna. It would be the first time Bond actually sings his own theme song.

New info...Possibly accurate.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrit...rhand-10895860

Quote:
[James Bond will travel to Croatia in the 25th instalment of the 007 franchise.
The film has the working title Shatterhand and the plot sees Daniel Craig's spy battle a blind supervillain.

Scriptwriters are believed to be basing parts of the plot on the 1999 thriller Never Dream Of Dying by US author Raymond Benson, who also wrote Bond books Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough.

The novel opens with a police raid on a French movie studio that goes badly wrong, while an actress with a sordid past leads Bond to his final target.
A source said: "Bond scriptwriters feel it could be the perfect follow-up to Spectre. They are hoping to film in Croatia next year."
The insider said producers had been furious when a local mayor revealed they had been scouting for locations in the coastal tourist hotspot of Dubrovnik.

The film is hotly anticipated after Craig's unconfirmed U-turn on quitting as 007. The 49-year-old star is set to return for his fifth stint despite declaring he would rather slash his wrists than play the secret agent again.
Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista will be reprising their roles as Spectre villains after provisionally agreeing to do the next blockbuster. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas in November 2019, with the script taking inspiration from 1960s 007 outings You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Other expected locations include the south of France and Japan.

In Raymond Benson’s Never Dream of Dying, bond battles a blind criminal genius behind an evil organisation called the Union.
The action kicks off in the south of France where a police raid ends up killing innocent people.

A dead man’s jail confession puts 007 on the trail of the bad guys. He starts a relationship with a film star called Tylyn Mignonne whose husband just happens to be connected to the Union.
Our hero has an underwater brush with death, a chase through the wilds of Corsica, a surprise encounter with an old friend - and a showdown with the blind baddie.
