Marvel Heroes gives players a pep talk over the console announcement

April 7, 2017 5 comments

Still feeling all tingly over the recent Marvel Heroes console announcement? It seems like a good fit for the action MMO, even if the console version won’t be as full-fledged (at least hero-wise) as the PC. Gazillion CEO David Von Dorman — once voted “Most Likely to Become a Supervillain Based on Last Name Alone” — emerged from his techno-fortress to give the community a pep talk today, saying that Marvel Heroes Omega is in a “great place” and that details about the upcoming console releases will be forthcoming.

Von Dorman also threw a bone to the PC master race:

“The latest build of Marvel Heroes Omega is in a great place — I can’t wait for you to play it and see for yourselves. While we’re excited to introduce Earth’s mightiest action-RPG to consoles, don’t think for a minute that we’ve forgotten about our PC players who have supported us from the very first day Marvel Heroes launched. Like many great cross-platform free-to-play games, PC support will continue.”Read more

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The Cosmic Bounty Hunter and Normal Solo Run achievements for the Dimensions Collide terminal are not displaying icons in the Achievements panel. This will be corrected in a future update.
  • The Enchanter is currently not appearing in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Training Room.. Hartney the Uru-Forged vendor is standing watch in his place, but… it’s just not the same. The Enchanter will be returning to the Training Room in a future update. In the meantime, The Enchanter is still available in all other hub areas as normal.

When it came to costumes on MH myself and many of the players would go to one thread for years, it was a thread ran by Xombiekitty. They kept the thread updated from November of 2013 all the way to August of 2015. I contacted Xombiekitty not to long ago on Steam to see if they would be interested in continuing on with their thread..

unfortunately it was a no go. I tried to see if someone else was interested but it didn't happen. Today I saw that Tony Cummings has decided to pick up the mantle and create a costume thread!

This costume thread will not be images like the old one but videos showing off all the costumes of MH.

Here's the link to the original costume thread by Xombiekitty. Thanks for all the time and effort they put into this over the years.

Matt Man Just a reminder for those who will also be playing Marvel Heroes Omega on either PS4 or Xbox One there's a console group as well. The PS4 beta will be happening soon until then the group will probably be pretty quiet. I expect the console forums to be going up soon as well.

Will there be a closed beta? When will it begin?
Quote:
  • The PlayStation 4 closed beta for Marvel Heroes Omega is scheduled to begin soon. Stay tuned for more details on our PlayStation 4 closed beta schedule.
How can I access the PS4 Closed Beta?
  • Players interested in joining the PlayStation 4 closed beta for Marvel Heroes Omega can select from a variety of Founder’s Packs for sale on the PlayStation Store to secure continued closed beta access -- and can be purchased online via the [official PlayStation Store website], through the PlayStation 4 console, or on the official Marvel Heroes Omega [website]. As an added bonus to everyone who takes the time to participate, all closed beta players, regardless of whether or not they purchased a Founder’s Pack, can look forward to receiving Daredevil, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, for free.
Will there be any bonuses for PlayStation Plus members?
  • PlayStation Plus members can also look forward to a variety of perks during the closed beta, including a free “Man Without Fear” costume for Daredevil, discounts on in-game currency purchases, and other limited-time exclusive access to select Heroes. We will have more news regarding Xbox Live members in the near future.
Will there be an Early Access program?
  • We have plans for a PlayStation 4 Early Access program, scheduled to begin on near the end of our closed beta. Founder’s Pack purchasers and closed beta participants who purchase Gs will have access to this Early Access window.
Will there be a character wipe for the closed beta?
  • We are currently planning for a player wipe near the end of our PlayStation 4 closed beta. Player progress will be reset along with any Eternity Splinter purchases, but any Gs purchased will be returned once Marvel Heroes Omega hits open beta.
What about the Xbox One closed beta?
* We also have plans for an Xbox One closed beta. Keep an eye on official Marvel Heroes Omega channels for more details and dates.
How many heroes will be available at launch?
  • 38 Heroes will be available at launch, including Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Deadpool, and more! Players can also collect hundreds of costumes and Heroes from their favorite Marvel Teams, including the X-Men, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. Iron Fist and War Machine will be exclusive to the Founder’s Pack for a 6-month period.
What modes will be available?
  • Chapters 1-9: Take the fight to Doctor Doom and the trickster god Loki in our fantastic nine-chapter story campaign.
  • Operations: In just a matter of minutes you and a group of friends can defeat super villains and foil their schemes.
  • Midtown Patrol: Defend Midtown Manhattan from the unrelenting onslaught of villains and their minions.
  • Danger Room: Enter the famous X-Men training simulator, featuring randomized missions, bosses, and hazards.
  • Legendary Missions: Once you’ve completed the story you have access to missions to acquire Legendary Marks of Odin which allows you to purchase Legendary Items.
  • Heroic, Superheroic and Cosmic trials: To get the best loot, you have to play on the harder difficulties. These trials make sure that you are truly ready to tackle those challenges.
Why will Marvel Heroes on Console launch with less content than what Marvel Heroes on PC has now?
  • By narrowing our focus and scope, the Marvel Heroes team can ensure the best possible experience on console at launch. Don’t worry, we plan regular additions and updates!
Will my progress/characters/anything transfer over to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?
  • There are no plans for any transfers to be given from PC to Console.
What kind of support and content do you have planned for consoles?
  • We have a team dedicated to bringing content onto all platforms. Our first patch on the PlayStation 4 will focus on resolving any major bugs and taking in feedback. The major patch we have planned is first is to focus on the social aspect of our game. . We will have more updates for you on our forums, website, and social media in the near future.
Will PC and console players be able to play together?
  • Due to the differences from our PC version to our console versions, the ability to play across platforms is not available.
When does Closed Beta begin for PS4? How do I gain access to the Closed Beta?
  • Players can expect a Marvel Heroes Omega closed beta program before the title officially enters open beta later this spring. Expect more news and details on official Marvel Heroes Omega channels.
Why is the PS4 release separate from the Xbox One release?
  • While we like to think big at Gazillion, the fact of the matter is that we are a comparably smaller studio. Staggering our releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will ensure we deliver the best possible experience for players on both platforms.

Matt Man Komoriman just posted on the PC MH forums the list of founders packs for the PS4.

"We have a pack for Deadpool & Spiderman which will be 19.99 USD, Guardians pack for 39.99 USD, X-men & Avengers pack for 59.99 USD."

He also commented about how long the PS4 closed beta will be.

"About a month or so. The team is setting the final dates."

@KomoriMan are other country going to get the founder pack too like Italy or Australia?
Thanks
So Australia/New Zealand has a different rating system outside of PEGI. I think it's the same for Italy so the very unlikely that those regions will participate when NA/EU does this Friday. Sorry! I'm working on getting updates.

@KomoriMan So no ultimate founders pack?
So sorry! Just for the 4 packs I stated before.

@KomoriMan any info on how the couch co-op will work in terms of accounts? Will local players be under the same account or does each player have his/her own account?
Both accounts on that PS4 will need an active PSN account. They don't need PS+ to play online though.

It's not even about details, even the general guidelines still are not communicated (Bosses and mobs update devblog). The item design team has been focused on the console version (with a new set of stats and a whole different itemization as it has been mentionned by @Asros) even though the PC version is also in dire need of a revamp regarding the whole item system to take into account the shift to the Archetype system (and even before the archetype system some item slots already needed a revamp, some since launch even like the whole rune system).
Regarding the Boss & Mobs Update Developer's Blog, that has been made but now needs tweaking due to the differences of enemies on console and PC.

So im new to this whole BETA thing. Do you download it like a regular digital game? If so does anybody have an idea of how long that would take?
It should and it all depends on your connection and PSN's servers.

@KomoriMan Way back when we bought founders packs for the PC version before release it gave us some in game credits to help buy stash space or other characters. Will the Console packs be the same?
With each pack comes a set amount of G's. I'll see if I can get a thread up that details what's available in each pack.

This silence towards our concerns about the pc version is probably the worst signal ever that things are only getting worse, thank god I never spent money on this trainwreck.
Our CEO has stated that the PC version will continue to be supported. We have GotG Vol 2 content coming and our leads/directors is working on finalizing a overall content plan for PC.

I know it sucks that we can't give any finalized details right now but know that it is coming.

I made a post about this earlier. Someone suggested I post it here. Are there any features exclusive to the PS4 Pro? I know all games are required to do so, but I'm not sure about non boxed games.
There isn't currently any support with PS4 Pro. Not sure which F2P games have Pro support.

Marvel Heroes Omega’s closed beta begins for PS4 founder pack buyers

April 21, 2017 4 comments

he closed beta for Marvel Heroes Omega is now live in the US for PlayStation 4 owners, Gazillion announced just a bit ago. A console launch had been long-anticipated by fans thanks to last year’s leaks and this winter’s poorly received streamlining update, but it was only just confirmed for PS4 a few weeks ago.

This particular leg of the beta is available only until May 15th and only for players who buy in with one of the founder packs, which appear to start at $39.99 $19.99 [cheaper packs have gone online since this post was published] and run up to $59.99 (the $99.99 bundles are for cash-shop currency).

Longtime PC players will not be able to transfer characters and accounts to the new platform; that’s because Omega isn’t actually the same build. Indeed, it offers significantly fewer playable heroes as well as the recently announced local co-op mode. The studio has, however, promised that “PC support will continue.” Xbox One play is also on the way; Gaz has promised more details on the beta for that platform and the open beta for PS4 “soon.”
The launch trailer is below.

My choice is easy, I would go for Taskmaster. Unfortunately he is not available as a Founders Packs and doesn't seem to be in the starting lineup.

This thread is a nightmare to scroll through and read. Zenith, you need to calm down with these posts, you're not doing anyone any favours with this stuff.

I also agree but try not to say anything. Its okay to just post a link and not entire forum posts from another board. Its especially bad navigating here on a phone

You're talking to a brick wall. Zenith took a blood oath to post any and all game news he can as often as he can. It's not a bannable offense, but sometimes I really wish it was. Dude owns whole threads. Just him dumping easy to find game news.

Yeah appears not be in the beta to start with at least anyway. Was tempted by the Xmen pack but with no Cyclops it sort of put me off a bit. Might get the cheaper War Machine or Spidey to start with (I assume 90% of the population will be Deadpool anyway, )

Jean is awesome but they raised the price on her for the console version. Also sucks that Cyclops isnt in the Founders pack but they have Beast in there who sucks. Scott is pretty much a must have for anyone starting out bc his 10% XP bonus synergy is pretty valuable early on

No doubt the other characters will come in time but yeah seems odd the leader of the XMen wouldnt be in the founders pack. Looks visually more interesting that say a Beast as well.
