Marvel Heroes releases new skins for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

May 4, 2017 8 comments

Going to see Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tomorrow? Marvel Heroes is taking advantage of cross-promotion love with a big Guardians of the Galaxy event and sale you may want to keep an eye on, and critically, all of it is available on PC.

Existing Guardians of the Galaxy-related characters, costumes, and team-ups are half off. There are brand-new new costumes for Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon too, but they’re not on sale for obvious reasons. PS4 players will indeed be able to pick up the new costumes in the Omega beta.

Everyone else can log in over the next week to take part in the Cosmic Chaos event and pick up login rewards (it’s a pair of new themed fortune cards). And if you’re actually playing the relevant toons?

Marvel Heroes’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 promo video is live

May 5, 2017 2 comments

What’s cuter than baby Groot? Nothing. So why try, yeah? Marvel Heroes’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 promo is now live, with the screens and video to prove it. The video is calling it “new content,” but as we covered earlier this week, it’s buyable skins, an event, and some admittedly nice sales on cash-shop items relating to the theme.

The voice clips in the video are fun, however, and we’ve tucked it down below.Read more

Unless you're a new player of the console version of Marvel Heroes, it's a frustrating time to be a Marvel Heroes fan. 2016 was a tough year for fans of the game, as work on the "Biggest Update Ever" took up the lion's share of the game's production schedule and Gazillion still ended up delivering only part of what was announced.Read more

They said in the video I put up this week which is on this same page from their twitch live stream which is VOD here , that black cat is next character for the consoles and they'll let us know about the rest heroes and their due dates. That's all for now.

Marvel Heroes Omega soft launches on PS4 next week, Xbox One June 20

May 17, 2017 3 comments

Comic book adventure is coming to consoles next week. The reworked, revamped, and renamed Marvel Heroes Omega is kicking off its console open beta test on May 23rd.

Starting next Tuesday, PlayStation 4 players can check out the streamlined superhero MMO for free. If that’s not soon enough for you, you can always buy a founder’s pack and get into early access this Friday, May 19th. So what’s the big deal about open beta? As there will be no wipe following the start of this phase, all progression will be carried over into launch. In other words, think of it as a soft launch.

Xbox One players are still waiting to hear about when they might be invited to the party. PS4 players, try not to gloat. Updated below!

The superhero PC MMORPG hits consoles.

Marvel Heroes Omega has been the talk of PC MMORPG players for a while now and we recently learned that it was coming to PS4, and has since had a beta last month. An Xbox One version of the game was announced, but now we officially have a launch date.
Developer Gazillion will officially release Marvel Heroes Omega on Xbox One on June 20. The game plays very similarly to a game like Diablo, but obviously with superheroes. Talent trees make up the MMO aspects of the game and provide a long form feeling of progression. It features 38 heroes to play as for launch with even more planned in the future.

If replayability wasn't enough with 38 characters, Gazillion has given a roster of end-game challenges to complete after the nine-chapter story. This includes completing trials, unlocking legendary items, competing in the Danger Room, earning Infinity Points, and unlocking moe Hero Synergies.
More details on the console launch of Marvel Heroes Omega can be found on their website.

Marvel Heroes Omega early access opens today for PS4 players

May 19, 2017 2 comments

It’s a big week for Marvel Heroes: Today marks the start of early access for the soft launch of Marvel Heroes Omega on PlayStation 4, which itself technically begins May 23rd, but if you want in now — with no more wipes — a founder pack (or a key you won from us!) will get you in today.

Earlier this week, Gazillion announced that its Xbox One-flavored game service will whirr to life on June 20th, so you folks have only one more month to wait.

PC players, I feel you right now, but there’s some good news on the horizon: a big A.R.M.O.R. incursion event plus a teaser for the anniversary, and it’s a good one:

'Marvel Heroes Omega' Launches Open Beta
We talked with Lead Designer Ben “TheArtofRawr” Gilbert about what the team learned from the closed beta and all the awesome stuff in store for players going forward.Read more

Play the hit MMO game for PlayStation 4 and learn when it’s coming to Xbox One!

Ready to play some “Marvel Heroes Omega”? Well the gang at Gazillion’s opening up the closed beta to everyone with a PS4. Did we mention it’s free to play?
We talked with Lead Designer Ben “TheArtofRawr” Gilbert about what the team learned from the closed beta and all the awesome stuff in store for players going forward.
Marvel.com: How’d the “Marvel Heroes Omega” closed beta go? Has the team picked up any cool learnings?
Ben Gilbert: The closed beta was great! It’s really exciting to see so many new players enjoying “Marvel Heroes Omega” and couch co-op on PlayStation 4. The response from players, press, and broadcasters on YouTube and Twitch.tv has been quite positive. But we’ve also been looking closely at critical responses and suggestions from players—as we always do. Feedback continues to be one of the most valuable sources of guidance for us.
There’s still so much that we want to improve upon and add to the game over time. However, after a series of major patches during the beta, we’re very confident about the current state of the game.
Marvel.com: And now we’re into the open beta where anyone can play right? What’s changed? What can players expect?
Ben Gilbert: That’s correct! Starting today, anyone can download and play “Marvel Heroes Omega” on PlayStation 4 completely free. Players who participated in our Head Start program will have all their progress saved and can resume playing from where they left off.
New players can expect to start off with our Prologue Mission. It’s an awesome scenario that finds players leading the Avengers to New York City where Ultron is laying siege to Times Square. It’s a great introduction to how our different heroes feel. Players will get a chance to play as Captain America, Black Widow, and The Hulk before diving into the main nine-chapter story campaign.

Marvel.com: For people who aren’t aware, how close to the full launch are we? Closed beta, open beta, then what?

Ben Gilbert: We’re very close! I wish I could tell you more, but I can say that the game’s official launch is coming very soon. Until then, we’ll be looking closely at what we can do between now and then to improve the “Marvel Heroes Omega” experience as much as possible with the goal being to update with one last major patch before launch.
Please keep in mind that our upcoming launch is still just the beginning for “Marvel Heroes Omega.” Just as we did with “Marvel Heroes” for PC, we’re committed to regular updates, improvements, and new content so players can always look forward to something new and exciting!

Marvel.com: For the players that don’t want to grind to get their favorite heroes, the Founder’s Packs are still on sale right?

Ben Gilbert: That’s correct. Players will still be able to purchase our Founder’s Packs. There’s also a variety of G Bundles, which is our real money currency. Gs can be used for all sorts of things from costumes to consumable boosts that will help speed things along. That being said, we really pride ourselves on not nickel and diming players in “Marvel Heroes Omega.” All heroes are free-to-play till level 10 and then there are Eternity Splinters. These are items that have a chance to drop from any enemy in the game and can be used to unlock additional Heroes for free.

Marvel.com: Right now the game’s just on PS4. Does the team have any plans to migrate “Omega” to the Xbox One?

Ben Gilbert: You bet! In fact, I’m happy to announce that “Marvel Heroes Omega” will be launching on Xbox One on June 20. We really would have loved to launch on both platforms at the same time, but staggering our releases this way will help us release a higher quality game. At the end of the day, that’s more important to us than anything else.

Marvel.com: What are the team’s plans moving forward?

Ben Gilbert: We’ve got an extremely busy year ahead of us! This is just the beginning, and we think players will really enjoy what’s in store for them. We’re already hard at work on a boatload of new content, features, and Heroes. The future is bright for “Marvel Heroes Omega,” and we’re excited to embark with our players on this journey together!
Stay tuned to Marvel.com for more “Marvel Heroes Omega” news and interviews!

Hopefully, me and my brother just played it couch co-op...its pretty nice but there are a lot of things they could work on.

One of the worst things about the game is the fact that it feels impossible to unlock new characters.
To unlock one, you have to pay with some splitters, one character costs around 400 splitters to unlock.
We played for around 6 hours, did every possible quest, treasure room, boss and we are almost at the end of chapter 2...yet we have 25 of those splitters.
That is insane.

Other than that, its pretty good and the beta looks promising.

I HATE that this game runs at a smoother frame rate and with better visual fidelity than it does on my Gaming PC. I have a damn decent Gaming PC, all things considered. I run Doom and GTA5 on High at 60fps with no troubles, but Marvel Heroes runs like **** on my computer. It runs great on PS4. That's aggravating. I've been playing this game too goddamn long for the console version to come in and swoop up all the attention. I wish Gazillion would just make the best ****ing possible game for PC before focusing even a moment of attention on console.

Oh my experience is opposite. It looks much better on my PC and I run it on highest settings. The PS4 version is a downgrade
