It wouldn't surprise me to see this called JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK is it happens and happens after JUSTICE LEAGUE. Which it almost certainly will.

I thought that for a long time, but since they're changing the comic title to Dark Universe I have my doubts.

That would just be too strange a move.

As a person who likes magic and supernatural stuff, this is the kind of comic book movie I'm looking forward to.

I feel like this thread could use a little more activity so...

Does anyone have any ideas on who the villain might be?

I remember him mentioning Floronic Man in an interview a while back.

And now I must shamefully admit to knowing next to nothing about the character.

I don't know much about him either except seeing him in B&R.

Floronic Man aka Jason Woodrue might just be a scientist again in GDT's script, who knows.

But I think there's probably going to be another villain. Maybe Felix Faust.

Nick Necro has been one of the more notable villains in the JLD comics so far. Do you think they might use him?

We don't even know when this movie will get green lit. It wasn't announced when WB announced the DC slate.

Del Toro has numerous films at different stages of development. Who knows he might not even direct this.

Maybe it'll be his next project.

JL: Part 2 releases in 2019, right? I'd love to see the ending showing the League recruiting other superheroes like in the first episode of JLU.

Maybe Constantine could show up. Cigarette in hand, talking about opening a supernatural branch in the League...

More likely Zatanna, I would think. I always see Constantine as being more of a reluctant hero, and definitely not really a team player. I doubt it would be him to make the suggestion.

Since we know the Spectre will be part of this and Etrigan has been mentioned as well, you need an incredibly powerful villain, personally I'm thinking (hoping) Eclipso

Only problem is GDT is in bed with Legendary/Universal at present. I believe Pacific Rim 2 is next for him, and Legendary has expressed interest in Hellboy 3 and At the Mountains of Madness as well. The prospect of finally being able to make AtMoM might be too good for him to ignore - especially if he thinks this might be his last shot at it.

If WB likes the script, they should look for another director. Give GDT an executive producer credit or something along those lines. I don't want to see this film added to the long list of "What could have been" films on GDT's resume. There is enormous potential in this property.

And I should remind everyone that just because this film wasn't included in the announced line-up doesn't mean it's not in the cards.

Del Toro has already sent the script to WB and apparently according to him they like it. It just now need's to be green lit. Whenever that is.

He was great in Alan Moore's Swamp Thing.

Constantine enemy Nergal who is a Babylonian god-turned-demon or Anton Arcane Champion of the Rot would make good villains.

Enchantress, who'll appear in Suicide Squad, should be the villain.

This could be on the 'Vertigo' slate Gaiman was talking about right?

I also doubt Del Toro directs it but if WB has a script he doesn't have to. I have doubts James Wan is directing Shazam I think it is much more likely he is in talks to direct one of the Vertigo films.

Magic that's really just science that's too complex for us to understand?

I think we'll need to wait and see what Doc Strange says about magic.
