Default Valiant to fund movie and TV projects!

Good news for Valiant fans!

Quote:
Comic book heroes Archer and Armstrong, Bloodshot and X-O Manowar might not be household names — but that might be about to change soon, with New York-based independent publisher Valiant Entertainment announcing a new round of financing that makes a significant investment in future movie projects.

I know nothing about Valiant characters as I have never read Valiant Comics, but many people (on I'net) seem to think they are good.

I take it not many posters here are familiar either ?

I always played with Manowar instead of Iron Man on their video game on PlayStation. He's cool

I'm not sure how popular these characters are but an XO Manowar movie could be awesome. It's such a great concept... a Conan-style barbarian type with a suit of alien armor. Magnus Robot Fighter could make a good movie too, but only if he wears a miniskirt and go-go boots.

I just hope that Dreamworks can sell the Gold Key IP back to Valiant so we can get Turok and Solar in the Valiant Universe.

Whoa, Solar isn't in the Valiant universe anymore? That's just wrong.

This is good news.

Hopefully we could also see Archer & Armstrong and Harbinger finally happen as well since they've just been lingering around as potential movies in development hell for years now.

This is great news!! I'm a huge VALIANT fan and hope the first live action film is Bloodshot!
Been reading VALIANT since 1990 and own about 90% of everything they've done.

Perhaps this will buoy their coffers and allow VEI to outright purchase the Gold Key 3 legacy characters Solar, Turok and Magnus for re-integration back into the fold!

I've only read the first free issues they have on Comixology. Quantum and Woody would make for a pretty funny film.

Just read Quantum and Woody. HILARIOUS! If they make a Q&W film, Edgar Wright needs to direct it.

What else has Wright done?

And he was supposed to do Ant Man but his vision and style didn't really fit with what Marvel wants and what they've established.

Check this video out. It shows what Edgar Wright does in his films. I think his style would fit really well with Quantum and Woody

Magnus could be great...though he was originally a Gold Key character.

First image of Ninjak revealed: http://www.cbr.com/valiant-shares-fi...R-TW&view=list

I haven't heard anything about where this series will airing, but if it's Netflix or Amazon, then it has a chance to be pretty high quality. The actor playing Ninjak was pretty good as Deadshot on Arrow... I thought he was a little wooden at first but he got better with subsequent appearances. Seems like a good pick, though I don't know if he can do an English accent. Though it's possible that they might not keep Ninjak British; guess we'll see.

I've always thought Valiant had a lot of potential on the big or small screen, even if it's never been as popular as DC, Marvel, Image, etc. A Shadowman series filmed in New Orleans could be f***ing amazing if done well. And a big budget X-O Manowar space opera could be epic.

Looks like Sony is still desperately looking for their own cinematic universe after the TASM debacle.

I'm not a huge Valiant fan, but this is not necessarily well known universe in terms of the general audience. I'm wondering how optimistic they are.

I think Valiant Comics could find an audience if they handle the films properly. They have to be extremely cautious, though, because unlike DCEU, their characters aren't as widespread & negative reception will kill the whole thing.

I'm not a huge fan either (though I do think they have some nice, fresh concepts) but I do wish them the best & hope they put together the most worthwhile of projects.
