The first month is free and in that time you might be able to finish all Marvel series. Besides, price of one month of Netflix is comparable to a movie ticket, but you get waaayyyy more content.

Civil War most certainly had the performances to make it "great" imo, even if you didn't love the plot

IM3 and BvS, again, not terribly "overrated" when everybody s**ts on them all the time
imo, I'd call IM3 vastly underrated around here

Given what seems seething hatred by many for it, I'd hardly say it's overrated.

Underrated, I'd say. It's a decent film with great chemistry between its leads, good CGI but suffers with a story that we already saw before (handled much better) with a few changes here-or-there.

Overrated would definitely have to be Civil War and The Dark Knight. CA: CW was more of an Avengers film with a bit more of a focus on Cap that had unnecessary additions that served nothing to the overall film. TDK is a one performance film, largely. CW was good, but I'd put TWS and TFA over it easily. TDK is eh, so Batman Begins would go over that.

I might get hate for this, but Spider-Man 2.

Too much time was spent developing the romance with Mary Jane despite her character being both horribly acted and written. Doc Ock essentially being mind-controlled by his tentacles was just dumb. The entire subplot with Harry was just set-up for the next film. While the movie had a lot of good, if we're being honest, it would be lucky to clear the 60% mark on Rotten Tomatoes had it been released after 2008. It owes its success and subsequent nostalgia almost entirely due to the fact that it came out during a period in time where people had really low standards for comic book movies.

Logan is overrated. Especially for a film, that brags how it's adult and not your typical CBM.

Now why would you get hate for a post that makes ignorant statements like it only got a good critic score because standards were low back then, or most of it's success is just nostalgia.

I mean it's not like it still gets praised by notable people today e.g.;

Kevin Fiege; "I think Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies ever, so that’s a lot to live up to."

http://www.superherohype.com/news/34...man-connection

Game of Thrones creator George R. Martin; "A couple reviewers are calling it the best Marvel movie ever. I won't go that far, but it's right up there, maybe second only to the second Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire Spider-Man film, the one with Doc Ock," he explained. "I liked this one more than the first Avengers and a lot more than the second, more than either Thor, more than the second and third Iron Man and maybe just a smidge more than the first (though I liked that one a lot too)."

Spider-Man 2 is still groundbreaking. We are probably too influenced by how Sony s*** the bed after it to remember how great it is.

I think Spider-Man 2 is incredible, second best CBM after TDK. It's not my favorite SM movie, but it's impossible to deny it's brilliance.

While I too hold SM2 in high regard, the last few posts show why there's plenty of room for someone to call it overrated if that person doesn't like it that much.

Overrated is such an overused term. If the general consensus is a film is an 8/10 but I view it as a 7/10, I would'nt call that film overrated. That said, there's only 3 CBM films I think are overrated as hell:

1. Dark Knight Rises
2. Spider-man 2
3. Days of Future Past

Logan. It is certainly a good film, but it is nowhere near the best CBM since TDK level that people have been praising it as. I'd definitely take TDKR, GOTG, Civil War, and Deadpool over Logan.

I honestly think Spider-man 2 is overrated. Only slightly, but still overrated. I prefer the first.

The first is massively underrated, especially now since people have seemed to turn on that film throughout recent years. I find it better than 2 in every way besides special effects and cinematography.

Some films that are lauded as some of the genre's best that I don't like quite as much as most like, say, Iron Man or Cap 3, I can still understand why they're praised as heavily as they are. Those 3 I mentioned are the only one's that I just don't see it, at all.

I'm with you. I've always preferred the first movie. It's better paced, Dafoe hams it up to awesome levels, and it isn't bogged down by excessive drama like Spider-Man 2 is.

Also Spider-Man 2 turns Mary Jane into a super unlikable character.

My two biggest problems with Spider-man 2. I still think it's a great film, definitely top-tier of the genre, but there's a fair amount of fat to trim. I never thought I'd argue for "less character stuff" in a superhero film (that would be a breath of fresh air nowadays) but it honestly does drag in places. And yeah, this is the start of Mary Jane's downward spiral for me.

There's so much I don't like about S-M 2, I'll be more specific after work. Dislike almost everything they did with Ock, Harry, racist landlord caricature, MJ, the 'Spider-man No More' arc, and the second act in general.

I don't hate it like I do Rises, I just think it's ok on an Iron Man 2 level and just don't get the love, and god have I tried.

Superman The Movie - Good representation of Superman. Poor story structure.
Civil War - Good acting, good action. Unsatisfying third act.
Winter Soldier - Ditto. Too much Scarjo. A lot of bland cinematography.
Avengers - Unbearably corny dialogue. Subpar cinematography. Too much Scarjo.
Doctor Strange - Despite its creativity, I also find it kinda generic.
Ant-Man - Ditto
Guardians of the Galaxy - Some cheesy jokes, and some of the emotional moments felt underdeveloped. Can't stand the Baby Groot dancing thing.
X2 - Boring third act, especially the stuff with Jason.
First Class - A lot of cheese. Specifically Jennifer Lawrence and Angel. Too much of McAvoy yelling.
Days of Future Past - Some subpar visuals in the 70's. Lawrence is annoying. Emotionally thin.
Deadpool - A lot of the jokes didn't land for me. On rewatch, it's kinda unbearable.
Kick-Ass - I find Hit-Girl unbelievably annoying.

I'm not just a grouch btw. I can name just as many movies I find underrated.
