I haven't read it in years but that's sad. They had the best covers when it first started publication and I loved their old strategy guides.

When I found about this yesterday I was really surprised. It's a shame it's getting cancelled after so many years, but nowadays, I rely on online gaming sites for game info.

What they should do is release a Nintendo Power channel and still charge a small monthly fee. That way it stays alive and they can make money.

I understand it. Just remember how in grade school we used to get the hints and tips for everything. That was a big deal when SMB3 was new to the scene.

I could have sworn I read that Nintendo Power went defunct a few years ago. Guess I imagined it.

though i haven't picked up a Nintendo Power magazine since the N64 days, i will sure miss it. that magazine was a staple of my childhood and helped me out with many NES, SNES, & N64 games.

The worst part about this is with the Wii U coming out Nintendo Power would of had tons of new content to cover and it would of probably of sold good again.

The thing is though, is anyone really buying print mags anymore? I read them in the bookstores, and should probably actually buy them.
![]() But yeah, 5th grade on up..we would sneak these things in during class and just pass it around and circle the areas we had beaten on the strategy maps.

It's sad, I remember this from my younger days, but frankly, a print mag on today's generation of video gaming just doesn't make financial or conceptual sense anymore.

Sad. I remember picking up a lot of issues during the N64 era.

I was buying NP back in the late 80s when Dragon Warrior and Zelda were new. Great strategy guides! I thought they had quit publishing them a while back as well but then I haven;t really followed Nintendo for a while.

Unfortunately something that's gonna be all too common with gaming magazines over the next few years. But Nintendo Power is the only one I cared about.

I'm paying my respects. The original NES was my first system. Then, the Super Nintendo, N64, and Gamecube. I enjoyed getting Nintendo Power in the mail. I remember once getting a tape that promoted Donkey Kong and Jetforce Gemini. It's a part of my childhood I'll never forget.

I remember reading about the N64 disc drive in there! Bummer! But admittedly, I would never pay for a magazine in this day. But in its time and place I love the mag!
