I'm not going to "blast" these reviews, but I do have a sneaking suspicion that these are the kinds of fans who need an explosion every ten minutes to keep them entertained. Just because TASM centralizes the Peter/Gwen relationship, it does not mean it's Twilight in tights.

It's only going to get worse this week once the embargo lifts. Every flick gets bad reviews but man, these bad reviews are going to get shredded. I just think we should put the rabbit ears down and be peaceful and cool. Also, at the end of the day, they're user reviews on IMDB, that's nothing at all.

I still haven't seen any Twilight parallels so far, but hey, if they saw the movie...

That "if" should be bolded, italicized, underlined, and in size 7 font. This is IMDb we're talking about here.

Love stories have been quintessential to the Spidey mythos for 50 years. Don't see why it's a problem for some.

Because... explosions! Chase sequences! Fights! CGI! This is literally all the comic book movie genre is there for, right?

spider-man without a love story at any part of it just doesn't work.

People may lambast Raimi for it, but he wasn't wrong in his approach. I mean, should he have included Gwen? Probably, but making MJ the thread throughout his trilogy was the right move. That's what Spider-Man is.

(this is not a spoiler LOL) I've seen the preview and I'm literally mad i have loves spider-man since i was 2 years old ( i had spider-man shirts and action figures and this little stuffed teddy of him.. and I'm a girl LOL) and i loved the spider-man 1, 2 and 3 and then they go and ruin it by not making a 4th one and remaking the 1st one with new characters and really its just romance... i think I'm not even gonna bother watching it and I'm gonna stick with my spider-man Movies (and Spider-man will always be my favorite superhero ) hm... one more thing... WHY WOULD THEY CANCEL SPIDER-MAN 4!? and get rid of the real cool proper peter parker? he was so cool I'm so sad that the world is so cruel to poor spider-man. Sony Suck... lol. well I'm going to watch the movie so i can write a review on how rubbish it is compared to the Real Spider-man OK? thank you for your time ^_^
This one isn't even a review of the movie.

I mean, really, the only thing that's remotely reminded me of Twilight so far is Peter's hairstyle. And I can't blame the guy -- it's a damn fine looking style, if I do say so myself

Interesting that he uses the phrases "proper" and "rubbish," suggesting that he's British, yet he blindly rejects Andrew Garfield.

Well to me, I just don't think saying this story is ALL about a girl was the right angle but having their relationship be the emotional core and anchor of three movies is the right thing to do, definitely. The reason I say it may not have been the right angle having it be all about MJ, is because a lot of things Peter did were all motivated by MJ or for her as opposed to just him doing something because for other reasons. Just a personal preference though

Of course the love story is important. Why do you think The Death of Gwen Stacy is considered the best Spidey story ever told?

Umm.. English grammar, How many years old is she ? If I am not mistaken Raimi movies had a fair bit of romance, and no TASM is not just about romance. So, a fan who claim that she is a true fan of character decides not to watch a movie on the same character ?

Weirder even that it's a teenage girl. You'd think she'd be all over this movie because of Andrew.

Exactly. And we can't have a story like that without the romantic connection. God, I can't wait to see that story play out onscreen.
