I still think Flash and Constantine were leaked on purpose.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the Constantine pilot was almost universally panned, and then it was changed significantly before it actually aired.

Conversely, the Flash pilot was loved by almost everyone and it had very few changes.

I recently saw the pilot and my intial thought when I first heard of the show wass that it wouldn't work. However its devilishly entertaining and when the show officially starts I will surely be tuning in each week.

Tom Ellis is very entertaining.

These leaks are on purpose for sure. We fanboys seek them out then critique them. Free focus group of the hardcore audience

This one seems to have the smallest amount of discussion between all the leaked DC pilots. I thought for sure this little board would be buzzing with equal parts complainers and defenders by now.

I liked it. The girl confuses me. Why would god send her when he wants lucifer back in hell? Now just have to wait for the next episode. (Didn't spoiler cause you got that question in the advert)

Just finished watching the pilot. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's just fun. And Tom Ellis does make an excellent Lucifer.

It was really fun. Though I do have my doubts about how it's going to keep it going since the premise has been done to death. Also, the music for this one was excellent.

That's cool that so many DC shows shoot in the Vancouver/Seattle area. Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie, and now Lucifer.

I'm really interested to see how Lucifer does ratings-wise. I usually have a good beat on these things but I really have no idea how well it's going to do.

Hopefully the audience will forgive the many liberties taken with the source material like they seem to have with iZombie.

I think the source material stick is used mostly for Superhero stuff where fans are sticklers for Origins/ Villain portrayals/ relationships/ plotlines.

The main character Lucifer does have a broader recognition base to start off with and even the show's premise is more fantastical than comicbook-y.

I'm willing to bet most of the audience wouldn't even have an idea it's a comicbook in the first place.

I'm still willing to give this a chance. I'll have to look up the pilot online.

Just saw a quick TV spot for Lucifer during the Packers/Vikings game on Fox. First TV ad I have seen for the show so far.

Just about two months away from the debut.

two more massive flops for Fox last night with Bordertown and Cooper Barrett premiering to a 1.1 and 1.2 respectively

this can only be good news for Lucifer

Cooper Barrett, Minority Report, Bordertown, Scream Queens, Grandfathered, the Grinder all flopped

Second Chance will almost definitely flop

Sleepy Hollow is a goner, Bones is in trouble, Last Man on Earth is in Trouble

Lucifer could get renewed simply because Fox has no other options

I think the half hour comedies have a bit of a different standard when it comes to hour long dramas.

That's definitely true but there comes a point when the ratings are what they are, and Fox has to renew something.

Bob's Burgers and Simpsons are already renewed, Empire and Family Guy aren't going anywhere. Gotham is safe, Brooklyn-99 is safe, Rosewood is their lone success so far with new shows.

Beyond that? Every scripted show on the network is at best a toss up. Fox is truly, truly free falling.

Saying a show that hasn't even aired yet is safe because other shows on the network are doing poorly is hilariously premature. It could easily end up doing worse than any of them.

I never said Lucifer was safe, I said all these other shows doing poorly bodes well for it.

That, along with it having the X-Files and Gotham as its lead ins. Both of those shows should be relatively compatible and those are the strongest weekday lead ins Fox has (since they stupidly air Empire in the late slot).

Is there anything about this show that specifically ties into the DC Lucifer books (or the DCU in general)?

Not really. It's a very loose adaptation. Some character names and locations and maybe a few traits are there, but it's not super faithful. Same very broad concept but that's about it. Probably an even looser adaptation of the source material than iZombie (which is a really good comic and a really good show).

Just about two weeks before the premiere.

Fox has been running spots for Lucifer during the Redskins/Packers playoff game today. Hopefully it helps.

The NFC Championship game will lead directly into the X-Files premiere on Sunday the 24th. Then Fox will air the X-Files second episode on the 25th, as a lead in for the Lucifer premiere. They will air together until X-Files ends in March, at which point Gotham will take its spot and serve as Lucifer's lead in for the rest of the season.

There will be a lot of eyes on the pilot. They're giving it every chance to succeed. We just have to hope it resonates with people.

Another day, another failed Fox pilot.

Second Chance premiered to a 1.2 last night out of a 2.5 lead in (American Idol). Dead on arrival.

I'll be happy with anything above a 1.5 for Lucifer's premiere.

Fox just renewed Scream Queens, a show which averaged a 1.09 rating during its fall run.

That's amazing.

That's a really, really low bar.

Scream queens is loved by a lot of people and the brain child of Ryan Murphy.
