I've only read a handful of comics in my life. The first set I owned was the Gambit #1-4 series which featured his wife Bella Donna. Besides that, I've only read various issues here or there.
I used to play the Marvel Card Game and collect Marvel cards, so I guess I picked my favourites from that. What I'm looking for to start; Comics with major story arcs for Gambit, Human Torch, or Hawkeye. Those are my three favourite superheros, and I'd like to learn a lot more about them. Any help naming these issues would be greatly appreciated. Graphic Novels (or whatever the comps of numerous comics are called) would be great too. Thank you. EDIT: POST #9 has the comics I'm interested in buying. Last edited by natey2k4; 05-09-2012 at 09:21 PM. |

For starters, Gambit and Hawkeye are both getting new ongoings in June or July.
Another good read for Gambit was his ongoing title back in the 90's. I personally loved that book. There aren't any trades but the individual issues would likely be cheap. I mean, seriously, when you defeat the badguy by spitting charged chewing gum in his face and blowing him out the back of the train with it in issue one... that's pretty awesome.

Would that be the same Bella Donna that first appeared way back in SpecSpiderMan #43 and is currently the leader of the League of Assassins? (or some similar name...
)

That Gambit series was cool for a few issues for exactly one reason: Steve Skroce. I miss that guy.

I've looked up some comics... does anyone know if any of these Hawkeye novels involve the same issues? I dont want to buy the same issues multiple times.. but I'm not really sure how they are numbered. Anyone who knows, it would be greatly appreciated.
HAWKEYE http://www.amazon.ca/Hawkeye-Mocking...6614883&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.ca/Hawkeye-Blindsp...6614883&sr=1-2 http://www.amazon.ca/Hawkeye-Mocking...6614883&sr=1-3 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...6614883&sr=1-4 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...6614883&sr=1-8 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...6614883&sr=1-9 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...614883&sr=1-12 http://www.amazon.ca/Ultimate-Comics.../dp/0785162275 Then I'm also thinking of grabbing; HUMAN TORCH: http://www.amazon.ca/Spider-Man-The-...6&sr=1-2-spell GAMBIT: http://www.amazon.ca/Gambit-Classic-...6615239&sr=1-1 Also, there is a Dark Hawkeye graphic novel. I know that is Bullseye, but would that be important to the Clint Barton Hawkeye story? http://www.amazon.ca/Dark-Reign-Hawk...6615591&sr=1-1 Also want to pick up this Scarlet Spider book. http://www.amazon.ca/Scarlet-Spider-...6615804&sr=1-1 Last edited by natey2k4; 05-09-2012 at 09:10 PM. |

These two contain the same material:
http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...614883&sr=1-12 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Hawkey...6614883&sr=1-4 Everything else on your Hawkeye list is each a different story, and they're all pretty good if you're looking to get a feel for Hawkeye. I'd also recommend this Captain America volume by Mark Waid because it has an issue where Steve and Clint's friendship/rivalry is touched on really well (and Thor shows up, too). Plus, it's just a bunch of really good comics. That Spider-Man/Human Torch book is great. Lots of humor and fun. I don't think Dark Hawkeye was important to Clint at all.

One more Hawkeye question, I found a couple more volumes looking around Amazon. http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Solo-C...pd_sim_sbs_b_6 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-West-C...6626525&sr=1-4 http://www.amazon.ca/Avengers-Assemb...6628413&sr=1-4 Would those both be all reads for a Hawkeye fan and not interfere with the other issues?
