I wonder if the flooding in the South will have an impact.

I think underestimating people who rarely vote who have decided to will have a bigger one.

We may have a taste of that in our own election.

Brexit eh? Gotta love these snappy little portmanteaus the media concocts. "British exit" would have at least explained what was going on to some degree without having to look it up.

Started with the grexit, expect dutchxit, sweedxit etc... Same as any dodgy deal is called a gate (as in watergate). Journalists are divs.

I remember reading something about Brits being angry over the EU banning life sentences, is that a motivating factor in this movement?

Do any of our Brits have a tl;dr summary of what set the stage for this?

No. Immigration + austerity + little planning (40k houses built ever year with net immigration being 330k), stagnated wages + increased inequality.

Basically a drop in standard of living for those at the bottom.

Isn't decided by a long way yet.

I can't do this anymore. I can't keep up. The count is moving too fast. It keeps changing every time I look at my TV screen. And the percentages just hit EXACTLY 50/50 there for a few seconds. I'm gonna keep watching but I can't update anymore. It's too much.

Best tracker I've found so far is from The Guardian. Breaks the vote down for each district which is pretty neat and informative. So far, it looks like Scotland and London have been the strongest supporters of remain.

I heard the pound is dropping like a rock.

Never listen to Donald Trump or far right nationalist in general.

He doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. From what I gather reading, the conditions leading to the Brexit are night and day from whatever it is that put Trump in the Republican slot for President.

I brought up Trump because he said London should leave the EU (probably because his far right supporters around the world egged him on).
