I'm going to have to wait to put Season 5 in there until it's finished. So far I'd go:

Season 1 < Season 2 < Season 3 < Season 4

I wish they could have just finished out Season 5 and given us a Season 6, even if both seasons were a few episodes shorter than previous seasons. I mean, the split of season5 and the long break almost feels as if we're waiting for season 6.

I must be weird cuz for me it's like 2,4,5.1,3,1. I found the cousins in season 3 boring. They just lurked around for like 6 episodes before anything really happened with them that really effected the other characters. I mean it was intense as hell when they were in Walt's room about to kill him but I just found their story boring after a bit. The pay off was great though. It's really hard to rank this show

Do you have a formula you use to come up with such specific numbers?

It got me thinking. It's a rare thing when a show manages to stay THAT good over such a long period of time. I really had a hard time ranking the seasons, because each of them is incredible in it's own way. And the show's not even over yet.

We're in for something really special, guys.

I can't wait to see what VG has in store for us, he never fails to surprise and deliver. Wonder what he is going to do after BB ends?

I think my brother is getting me the first part of season five for my birthday. So hopefully I'll be caught before the second half starts.

The amount of hair VS the amount of violence on Breaking Bad. Hilarious webcomic.

Actually, now that I think about it, I do have one favorite moment, even though I can't really measure the seasons against each other. The slow pan from Walt over to the Lily of the Valley at the end of season 4 was one of the all-time biggest "OH S***!" moments I've ever seen on television. There are obviously more shocking moments, including other moments from BB itself, but the fact that that moment was masterfully crafted to have that impact over the course of that whole story arc was utterly epic. Craziness happens left and right over that story, but that one moment still leaves you reeling at the end of it all like you've been punched in the gut and totally shatters the sense of safety that Walt finally taking care of Gus had given Walt and Jesse (and, by extension, us viewers). Vince Gilligan is on a whole other level compared to most showrunners.

In my mind, the ending is a victory for Walt. You might see the episode and say, “What the **** was he talking about?” But it’s a somewhat happy ending, in my estimation.

What the ****.

The easy thing would be to kill Walt and have it be done with. To give him a happy ending is truly difficult, and that makes me excited.

These would be my rankings, the last half of season four was storytelling at its finest. We'll see how Season 5 Part 2 does.

Season 4
Season 5 Part 1
Season 3
Season 2
Season 1

Season 5 Part 2 will probably be god-tier stuff.

And I have no idea what all this victorious, happy ending **** from Gilligan is about. I can't imagine that
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Walt gets away with it all and succeeds. I suppose he could die and his family be not completely destroyed as a result, which could be a victory, but that adjective is so vague that I really can't imagine what it means. Not to mention that Gilligan said that it may not seem so happy when we get to it, but he sees it as such.

It could be a victory in that he chooses his death/how he dies.

Yeah, I'd like to see him go out on his own terms. That'd be an interesting/victorious ending for sure.
