With home release slowly making the leap to 4K and Ultra Blu Ray, if you ever wanted a standard Blu Ray player, now's probably the time. Only got mine a year or so ago and it was just $60, probably much cheaper than they were initially.

I say this knowing that, within the next year or so, I may jump into 4K, but the thing is that requires a 4K TV as well as the 4K player.

Very fascinating and cleverly designed poster, which perfectly characterizes the movie/story. It also would've been a cool cover for the recent blu ray release.

So they are both the best movie ever? Interesting development.

Putting aside my feeling about these views, why would you be posting this here, other than to troll?

^Sweet!

Finally finished my rundown of our Season Two batch of reviews, analyzing the episode order and the various character arcs thru the season, plus how Phantasm ties into it all. Enjoy!

I never expected that selecting an order for these episodes would be so fun.

The dirt will probably be removed, but the grain will be intact. Warner Bros. have gotten better and better at restoring their back catalogue,
polishing their movies and series without transforming them into something they weren't to begin with (so no digital noise reduction and all that bull-crap). This won't suddenly look like squeaky-clean modern animation. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is probably a good example of what we can expect.
I think the shots which feature visual effects (I can't remember there being many, though), COULD probably be of slightly lesser quality, as they were done on video (as opposed to the animation, which was shot on film), and I don't think they'll go back and redo the effects from scratch.

Awesome Re: The Official Batman TAS Thread - Part 3

I always praised Paul Dini for investing so much of his energy, creativity and time in DC Animated Universe, and for providing us, Batman & DC Comics experts/admirers, with some of the finest and original interpretations of a lot of iconic and memorable characters.

One of my favorite DCAU-related DTV’s happens to be Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000), but… did you know that there is one MAJOR TWIST (something that has to do with a certain Boy Wonder) in particular, that actually happened IN THE COMICS BEFORE the movie WAS RELEASED?

Ladies & gents, I would like to show you a small compare/contrast video project that ties several pages from a forgotten Batman comic: Detective Comics #623 - ‘Death of Innocence’ (written by John Ostrander & drawn by Flint Henry & Mike McKone) with the film.

Issue 623 was first published in November 1990 — 10 YEARS prior to the unveiling of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker to the world.

Wow, I actually got a reply from Mr. Dini a few minutes ago:
https://i.imgur.com/CCoG6pe.png - original link to our conversation

Paul Dini: "No, I don't recall seeing that story before. The flashback scene in Return of the Joker was brainstormed by myself, Bruce Timm and Glen Murakami in a writer's room. We were all tossing ideas around so it's possible we hit on something similar to that story."

Turns out it's a pretty big coincidence!
