It's been a pretty slow month or so for the MCU in terms of major news, so anything from Punisher is good.

I recently read The Return to Big Nothing. It would fit what we've seen with the flashbacks and would work well with his former co-soldiers joining with organized crime. That being said, I think Daredevil Season Two kind of undermines this story.

Yea I agree...Or the birthday of the Marine Corps which is a day before. IMO they're kinda overdoing it with the whole blurring out the release date in all the teasers...Or maybe Im just impatient lol...On another note those photos look nice! Im loving the pictures of Frank in action, one thing we didnt really get in any of the movies is in depth footage of him in his military days...Lucky 13 episodes gives us time to look deep into his time downrange.

New synopsis.
Quote:
"After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone."

Well, she is a reporter now so it might be related to her job or to her skills in investigative journalism.

I'm guessing they're tip-toeing around the release date because they know how much we're all hyped for it. It's been a long road, since April 2016, when the series was announced. They know this is the one we're really waiting for.

There are multiple different Punisher stories about him coming across some former war colleague or associate that is now involved in organised crime. It is a extremely common plotline in the Punisher comics . The most recent Punisher comics run featured another story of a old army colleague of the punisher being involved in a drug dealing ring.

I'm sure they are drawing from many of these types of Punisher stories to craft the plot of the season.

Curtis Hoyle who is in this show was a former Nam colleague of Frank's that being second in command of a drug ring back in the Mike Baron run of the late eighties.

William Rawlins who is in the show is from Garth Ennis mid-2000 Punisher Max run.

Ray Schoonover (The Blacksmith) from Daredevil season 2 was from the early Punisher War Journal issues and his backstory as a corrupt former commanding officer of Frank is the same.

She did declare that if Punisher killed the Blacksmith that she'd be done with their relationship

With Matt seeming to have fully curved Karen for Elektra it's plausible she wants herself some *ahem punishment...but Gawd I hope they dont go that route...I dont know how id feel about a love story in The Punisher.

Before Vietnam, he was the son of Sicilian immigrants and studied in a seminary before joining the Marine Corp. and going to Vietnam.

I will be curious to see if they tweak it so he comes from a military family or not. IE with Luke Cage's show, instead of being a young gang banger from the streets, he was the son of an Atlantan preacher and came from a well-to-do family. Wasn't fatherless, and arguably had a "privileged" life. Then later served in the Marine Corp and was an officer of the law.

Not sure if they will keep the son of immigrants background or seminary student stuff with Frank. For this version, he obviously couldn't have served in Vietnam. But he was likely in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he still probably has some skeletons in his closet from his time over there.

He definitely served in Afghanistan in the show. I know Kandahar has been mentioned.

Yea whatever happened in Kandahar really interests me. It almost sounds like him and his buddies over there committed some kind of crime.

I'm sick of Karen personally and hope a romance with Frank is just fan speculation and nothing else

LOL, it was kind of funny to me that even ComicGirl19 got sick of Karen in the second season.

I like Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, but found her monologue at the end of season 2 to be very obnoxious.

That was great. Thanks for posting. I really need this show now. Looking forward to it more than Ragnarok(Which looks great) and Justice League.

being italian i hope they keep that background. i wanted to ask the question of his real last name being in the show to bernthal himself if i knew a way to contact him. he looks italian in a way, especially the attitude, he also played capone in a movie and it would be a shame if he's not italian american in the show. also it would be nice to have a "positive" italian american character once in a while and not the usual mafia guy, there's jigsaw for that. i'd love even only a mention of the name castiglione. i'm sure the show will be great anyway...

Didnt he also play Deniro's son in Grudge Match? Im not Italian but I also hope they keep his Italian background as well, Frank Castle was always Italian to me that's just the way it was. And it made it cooler for some reason when he went after the Italian mob in the comics. Also, the Blacksmith mentioned that he had to teach Frank how to hold a gun in DD S2 which leads me to believe maybe he wasnt part of a military family?
