Why Can't DC Get it right? - Part 1

They can't get it right because they don't need to. Superhero movies simply aren't a priority for a studio that has a huge list of less risker IPs to choose from.

Batman and Supes are bankable and quite frankly, not the most difficult superheroes to pull off on screen. DC's stable of second tier characters is where things get complicated.

To pull it off you need conviction and passion:

conviction: belief in these characters and their stories. belief that the characters and their stories is enough to resonate with audiences. This is something Marvel fans have been saying for the longest and are finally seeing it from Marvel. BELIEVE AND HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE SOURCE MATERIAL!! PUT IT ON THE SCREEN!! DON'T COP OUT AND TRY TO DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM THE SOURCE MATERIAL--have faith in the characters and their stories --- FANTASY AND ALL!!

Passion: without the passion....you can't have the conviction.


WB has neither because they don't need to......DCE--as a studio unto themselves, with the right people in place...over time can develop the passion and conviction.

Honestly, it wouldn't suprise me if another Batman film came out before WW, Flash or at least another attempt at GL.

Honestly, of all the 2nd tier characters WW is probably the easiest to pull off.

1 part Clash of the Titans
1 part 300 and Immortals
1 part Troy


Mix well until an even consistency is achieved.

Dust lightly with humor (fish out of water --- I know, I know. It was already done with Thor. But it works).

Agree totally, another problem for DC is they have no vision. If you want to go to the fountain of all that is marvel you head to one man Stan Lee. He may have the corniest answer you ever heard but the man drops pearls.

now they're making the hobbit a trilogy. i don't expect anything dc related post MoS for a while. we'll hear rumors about a jl film again when avengers 2 comes out, but that'll blow over too.
