For me wih spidey would definatel hate to see if he was gone and his whole host of supporting characters and villains. Since a good portion ties deeply into the the marvel u. We would loose a lot.

I'd miss Cyclops. He pretty much holds the team together and rules over all Mutania WITH AN IRON FIST! Wait, no. That's everybody else if given the option to taker care of all the mutants that were left.

If Deadpool was earsed from the Marvel canon. I'd probably boycott Marvel, even though I love more than just Deadpool.

If he was never created, eh there wouldn't be a huge impact on comics. Besides some hilarious comics never being written & Cable having his own solo series for a couple years in the '00s.

Since I thought it over and considered differences, I will state what would really happen if Spider-Man never existed, and cause I dislike seeing "Last Edited" under my posts I'll make a new post just to say it

Aside from reading more Hulk before reading Iron Man and finding him growing to be my favorite Marvel character, I'd probably have a hard time getting into trying Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Moon Knight, and certain smaller characters, their appearances and interesting roles in Spider-Man comics got me to follow their adventures

More DC comics for me, more Flash and Green Lantern

Sort of a bizarre question. How would I know my favorite character was never created if they were never created? O_o

Not really bizzare, look at how your favorite Marvel character influences your joy for comics, and what other characters you started reading because they interested you with your favorite character, etc...
Look at these points, and imagine how things would go

Honestly, if Thor were taken out of the equation, not much would've changed for me. I was initially a Spider-Man fan more than anything else. Then Spider-Man started getting stale and boring to me as I grew up. My love of mythology in general drew me to Thor, and then Thor's given me a great appreciation for a lot of Marvel's cosmic elements. So I guess I'd be less into cosmic stuff? But the Avengers are my other great love at Marvel, and I'd still be into them because I got interested in them before Thor with Avengers West Coast, the Vision, Hank Pym, Wonder Man, et al. The Black Knight and Captain America were my inroads into the main Avengers title because Thor was largely absent during Bob Harras' run.

Granted, without Thor my interest in superhero comics as a whole might have degraded more over time. He's the main thing that keeps me coming back to Marvel, especially since Bendis took over the Avengers franchise. If everything else is s***ty, I can usually depend on at least one good comic that's in some way related to Thor: Dan Jurgens' run in the early '00s, Oeming's "Ragnarok" and mini-series, Incredible Hercules, Journey Into Mystery. Those are the comics I'm most drawn to. Other things I pick up mainly because some good creator's on them or I'm interested in the premise or I just want to stay up-to-date. But I guess, now that I think about it, those Thor-related comics are the linchpin of my comic buying.

My comic buying days are over for the most part since Ghost Rider is taking sabbatical. The only other comic I read are Northlanders and the Boys and one of those is ending soon. I would not mind at all if Friedrich gets ownership back for Ghost Rider. GR is done in the Marvel Universe anyways.

My favorite Marvel character is probably Moon Knight, and if he was erased or didn't exist nothing would be different . Although I first got into Marvel through the X-Men so I'd still be a Marvel nerd to this day.

My favorite Marvel character is Deadpool, so no Deadpool would suck, but technically if he never existed I would have never known him, hence no effect on me at all.

I have 2 favorites: Spider-Man and Deadpool

If Spider-Man never existed, which almost did happen, i probably wouldn't enjoy a lot of Marvel comics and they probably just wouldn't be the same

If Deadpool never existed, it just sucks on a personal level. He can leave without affecting the entire Marvel universe, though

Im talking about Spider-Man too lol
This about wraps it up for me though I'll take it further...

If Spider-Man didn't exist I'd probably not have the same appreciation for comics that I have. I wouldn't have spent so much time collecting them month after month, sure there's always Batman Superman & Wonder Woman , and I guess I'd be appreciating Robin more (lol) but yeah it just wouldnt be the same without the webhead.

But most importantly, other than the comics, I owe spidey my first interest in writing. Even if Spidey didn't exist I'd probably have become the avid comic-book reader / nerd/ geek that i am with the DC characters, and that interest in reading would naturally progress to love of rading in general and then on to literature (which im majoring in right now). HOWEVER, back in 2002 when I was 11 i came out of the theater watching the first Spidey film and ... well it started off my interest in WRITING. Stories, fanfics, all that. It all started after seeing spidey swinging through the skyscrapers in live-action. That would not have happened, at least i believe, had i not have seen that movie at that time (Dick & Babs are always great and Nightwing rules but he's certainly no Spidey).

So yeah, I owe Spider-Man my jump-started interest in becoming a writer. Here's hoping it's a responsibility I carry out

there's always X-men. I think if X-men didn't exist, comics wouldn't have had the crazy title-cross-over story arcs that they have going within a single character (say Batman or Superman). Or the intricate built-in universe/mythology for a single comic-book. That'd change things a lot.
