If you know how to shoot action (Scott, Carnahan, McTiernan, Cameron, Campbell to name a few) you're a great action director. If you can have a story and themes behind it, even better. I let this sink in before commenting as it was just so surreal and even now there are no real answers to how something so tragic and senseless happened. I own most of his movies and for me he was a great maker of blockbuster entertainment but also could deliver a soul with the action when required like the masterful Man on Fire. I also think one of his most recent (Unstoppable) was one of his best, so his talent was still burning bright.

R.I.P Tony.

Unstoppable was good. I've been on a Tony Scott kick in the last two months and have re-watched most of his films. So it feels weird even reading this.

The only Tony Scott directed film I haven't seen is The Hunger.

There is french newspaper, called telerama. They wrote a garbage article about Scott. It's something along the lines of "ok he's dead, but he is still a ****** director, and we won't say otherwise just because he's dead." And they go on like this, destroying his whole career, just for the sake of being different. While I think they have the right not to like his movies, I also think they spit on his grave with this kind of article.

Hungers a great film. Its a shame he didn't do well when it first came out and Scott didn't get the chance to do more movies like that.

Film4 in the UK have said they are going to do a Tony Scott film season as well so anyone in the UK and Ireland can checkout some of his movies on tv soon.

Telerama writers are a bunch of snobs it doesn't surprise me.
