It was utterly pointless. Mystique destroys Cerebro so Xavier et al don't find her but they still find her with just a simple "oh she's where Trask will be."

It makes Beast an idiot and it makes Mystique an outright beyotch.

I'm glad that was taken out of the theatrical release.

Worst scene from the Rogue Cut!

Mystique and Beast making out was just not good.

And that shot of Mystique breaking Cerebro looked cheap.

Yes, agreed. It was one of the worst of the 'new' scenes.

I also didn't much like the 'I'm the Wolverine' line, Kitty phasing Magneto through the monastery door, or Magneto letting the medics/surgeons escape from the Rogue lab. Also, considering Rogue must have been there a while, they hadn't done much to her.

i assume that was mean't to show the contrast between young magneto and old magneto, one being bad and one being good

i think them leaving kitty to bleed to death by yourself with logan was not cool either

Yeah agreed on Magneto not killing the scientists, I thought that was more to show he was now with Charles who insists on no killing, and that he had learned his lessons from his younger days.

Imo, he could have just thrown those doctors off the wall... who knows those doctors probably called the Sentinels to hunt them down after they got away.

Isn't that what Jean Grey did when she and company enter the Alkali Lake.

Yeah, I thought he would have at least knocked them out, but I suppose he really has changed, plus Rogue was their goal at any rate.

Pheonix? It's Phoenix.
Also only 26 kills? I thought she killed way more people & mutants in X3.
Birth Place: USA? LOL. I wonder why they didnt put as birthplace "Earth". They should have been more specific.

Its nice to see that they posted a pic like that for Jean especially her role in the film was just a cameo (a great one though). I think the only one left is Kitty which I am waiting for. I don't know if they would post a picture like that for villains and non-mutants.

Meh. I liked the Mystique/Beast scene - I thought it was far more relevant to the characters and overall story being told in DoFP than the Rogue rescue scenes.

It was a nice swing back to their relationship in First Class that was completely absent in the theatrical cut.

I preferred it if Charles realised she was off to Washington like it he did in the original cut and then mixed with rogue returning safely to the temple with my lovely storm looking happy, it would have given that glimmer of hope before the every thing turned turned sh**y with the sentinels

26 kills all in one movie (X3) which is no longer valid post DOFP -- facepalm!!!

also, they shouldn't be marketing the number of kills!! the x-men are not mercenaries by trade, but the complete opposite!

I do like this cut better then the one we got. But all this did was give me OG feels, I want a whole movie that deals with the OG crew leading up to DoFP.

The commentary between Bryan Singer and John Ottman is pretty fascinating. It seems like Singer had to do some major last minute re-writes to Simon Kinberg's script. It sounds like Kinberg's early drafts were filled with plot holes.

Another thing you notice about Kinberg on the special features is just how socially awkward he is. He basically mumbles throughout his commentary track with Singer and his nervous mumbling continues on the unguarded round table.

I'm going to have to go with the theatrical version. The narrative is much tighter, allowing for a more cohesive film with better pacing; and that's critical when you're dealing with an ensemble cast. With so many characters on hand, you can't have too many things going on at once.

While I liked seeing Rogue, especially because the extra scenes gave more meaning to her appearance in the penultimate scene of the film, I felt it was unnecessary to have her take Kitty's place in anchoring Logan's mind to the past. I understand we're dealing with fantasy here, but I like to think that it takes a certain measure of focus and precision to accomplish such a daunting task. When Rogue came out of nowhere and absorbed Kitty's power, that should have been enough to sever her connection to Logan. Instead, they had Rogue and Kitty swap positions, as if they were merely playing a game of musical chairs.

That said, the Rogue Cut is cool for hard-core fans who really wanted to see more the OC, but I'm personally glad that most of those scenes were cut from the final product.

Yeah, ditto. The Rogue Cut really made me want the future scenes fleshed out into an entire Sentinel/dystopian film.

The best part of the Rogue Cut was just that it added screentime to the future, which I felt was sorely lacking from the theatrical cut. I think the Rogue scenes and the Bobby/Kitty should have been left in. Gave all three of those characters actual character development and arcs, which was lacking in the theatrical cut. The Rogue escape scene also added another action scene to the middle of the movie, which drags just a tad otherwise. And the PastMagneto/FutureMagneto break-ins playing at the same time worked really well.

I do think the future scenes dragged slightly at the beginning, when they felt it necessary to give everyone a line. I would have left in Storm's longer line and then probably ditched some of Bishop's/Sunspot's.

No clue whatsoever why they cut the Mystique/Beast scene. The Cerebro scene was cheesy, yeah, but regardless of how you feel about the pairing, those two needed that scene to again add some character motivation/development.

Overall, I can't see ever watching the theatrical cut again. Way prefer the Rogue Cut.
