At the same time, once you put Hal back on Earth, what's left to really distinguish him from The Flash, or Superman, or Spider-Man or any other earth-bound hero plot/storewise? It's a pretty overused paradigm that Hal's been able to circumvent largely due to the focus on space adventures.

They dont have to limit him to just Earth, he could still have stories out in space. Just maybe every now and then we see him have to handle a situation in Coast City.

johns' green lantern isn't good because of hal, it's good because of the cool new characters and additions to the mythos

the new team needs to bring back a sense of scale to the universe

make it so big that seeing another lantern is rare and exciting again

no more events where the entire corps gathers, that should be used once in ten years

Yep, before ever working at marvel they had a run on Legion. Haven't read it but i always see people giving it praise on various boards.

If they took over GL that would definitely pique my interest. Johns was on the book too long, IMO...similar to Brubaker on Cap.

The rumored writers for the Green Lantern books are Joshua Hale Fialkov, Justin Jordan, Keith Giffen, and Robert Vendetti

I hate to say it but with how little interest I've had in Green Lantern of late, I might just skip out on the book once Johns leaves.

Yeah, it was my biggest problem with the movie too.

SMH @ not knowing Keith Giffen. Writer of some of the greatest Green Lantern moments ever for both Hal and Guy. Fialkov (I, Vampire writer) could be interesting too. I agree with the DnA suggestion. They've already done some New 52 work for DC.

Giffen would be amazing, no idea who the others are. Him or DnA could get me on board.

Fialkov would probably offer the greatest chance at the book actually being incredible.

Giffen writes good stories constantly, but he seems to stay more in the range of good than truly great.

You can step on your dick and let the rest of us read Tomasi on GL. His GL Corps book was awesome.

I found I, Vampire to be one of the best New 52 books of the bunch. Easily within my top 5.

It really wasn't around Pre-New 52. It was a part of House of Mystery in the early 1980's and Andrew Bennett only appeared sporadically since then. DC revived the concept with the New 52 and it's been awesome.

Did DC ever explain who that glowy purpley chick was that was in all the #1's in the New 52? Cause I have been waiting for her to be important...
