I'm not going to defend Raimi's mistake simply because hey, I hated Spider-Man 3

I mean, hell, we even see a newspaper clipping, I think, in S-M 2 where it was taken by Eddie Brock. That's clearly a huge mistake made by Raimi, but still...only suggesting we could have very well seen Ravencroft from the beginning.
There's no newspaper clippings with Eddie's name in 2. Eddie being mentioned in the first movie was obviously meant as an Easter egg, but in the scheme of things you can chalk that up to another guy being named Eddie.

In trilogies and cbm sequals, not everything in the 2nd and 3rd films have to be in the first original movie ha. New things are introduced along the way. There was absolutely no reason to introduce Ravencroft in TASM, even if they did show Connors in the cell at the end, theres no reason to say it was Ravencroft when they weren't going to/have time to explain what it is. They said that Connors is arrested and behind bars on the news at the end, so it's safe to assume he's just in a jail cell. Sure it could have been a nod, but it's still unnecessary. We don't even know if Connors is going to be in Ravencroft, it could still be for someone else

Well Harry is conducting business at Ravencroft (which Oscorp owns). Maybe whatever they're doing there results in Dillon turning into Electro? Or maybe they're picking a criminal up for testing and they turn him into...the Rhino?

ha, so apparently Max Dillon's appearance makes ASM2 a joke and Harry is gay now because he wears a peacoat and scarf? Seriously unbelievable.

pretty much all of the complaints about this movie so far are shallow in nature

Jamie Fox as Max Dillon is really not what I was expecting, in a good way. The different things they're trying with Electro so far is pretty exciting.

Eddie Brock is credited for taking the photo of Spider-Man's costume hung up after he gives up. It's pretty much impossible to see in the film, but I've seen the actual prop online before.

It's kind of strange they go with the stereotypical goofy loser looking guy. I mean you can be a loser without actually looking like one lol. I hope it's not too campy.

Looking goofy and like a loser is one thing, but acting like it is another. He can either make it completely stereotypical and over the top ((a la The Riddler, and imo destroy the film) or he can make very real and understated. I'm hoping for something along the lines of his performance in Collateral and The Soloist and heck maybe even Sam Jackson's character in Unbreakable.

I'm curious as to how deep they'll get into his character's past. Perhaps some deep personal issues?

I don't want to be that overly complaining guy. I know that I complained quite alot about Electro's blue look (which I've later changed my mind about).

But I have to say that they are going over the top with Max. Sure he's a loser but that is extreme! It looks like some kind of parody even.

Maybe they want him to mirror Peter Parker? I can see them wanting that but in that case, it wouldn't work very effectively since Peter Parker was pretty cool even before the spider bite (even though he was mocked and a bit of an outsider). It would've worked way better in contrast to Raimi's Peter.

Anyway, that's the only complaint I have about these latest news. I absolutely love that Oscorp is the owner of Ravencraft. That opens up for so many things!

Though one aspect of the loser angle that I really like is that it makes it very believable of him to become this power hungry maniac when he gets these powers. Like he feels he can have some kind of revenge on society.

Freaking this. Some people need to keep quiet and wait for the damn movie. Some of the details people are complaining about on here are so goddamn small, nobody freaking cares :/

From his apartment to his wardrobe, does anybody else get a weird Jim Carrey in Batman Forever vibe from Jamie Foxx's Mx Dillon?
