Apparently it's Roger Moore's favourite film from his own body of work.

That's interesting to know. I've seen several people in the business over the years say that Moore was a far better actor than he believed himself to be. Sadly many of his roles - whilst being hugely entertaining - didn't require much depth.

Sir Roger was what got me interested in James Bond films in the first place. Here's to you:

That film also managed a camera trick back in the 1970s that was quite ingenious for its time.

It wasn't apparently done by split screen, but had Roger Moore not only circle around himself but walk in front and behind himself.

It's an excellent psychological thriller and really showcases his acting. He's a world away from his Bond/ Saint persona.

RIP Roger Moore. Just checked the internet for the first time a bit ago and found out. One of my favorite James Bonds.

One thing I remember about Sir Roger is that he'd sign photos of Sean Connery, all because of one throwaway joke on The Simpsons.

I really liked him in a film called ffolkes, where he costarred with Anthony Perkins... his character in that movie was just priceless as the no-nonsense anti-terrorist team leader who only tolerated cats...

RIP Roger Moore

He was not my favourite bond at all, but the man was a legend in the field.

Maybe it's wrong but the fact the press release stated he was heavily suffering from cancer and was in Switzerland I wonder did he decide enough was enough

Kind of crazy that a franchise going back 55 years has only just lost an actor to play that lead role.

Yes, and with the rumours about Connery's health a couple of years back I'd have thought he'd be the one to go first.

These days it's all about the 'young blood' - but thankfully all the makers cared about was the best person to take over the role.

That's true. Connery and Moore were both very different, but each had a great take on the character. But I'd be lying if I didn't think that even though Moore was older, in his earlier films like Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun he still looked younger than Connery did in Diamonds Are Forever. He didn't really start to look his age until maybe Octopussy.
