That explains why I haven't heard his name the last few years. Hope he returns soon. If MOS succeeds and leads the charge for the next DC film projects, I'd love to hear him score one of them.
^ John Powell for scoring Wonder Woman . That'd be too awesome

Remote Control does an excellent job with creating new composers.

They churned out my man Steve Jablonsky. And despite his "Nightmare on Elm Street" score sucking eternal, I've loved everything he's done.

He's like a Zimmer / Williams fusion. Best of both worlds. Pizza AND Spaghetti.

To be fair, the Nightmare on Elm Street remake was a horrendous movie.

100% agreed. You know a horror movie about dieing in your dreams is bad when you willfully fall asleep during your 1st viewing of it.

But that does not pardon Jablonsky on it. He did a wonderful job on the Friday the 13th remake score, so he CAN do horror.

And he also did a great job on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen score - so he CAN do a great score on a bad movie.

Hell, 1/2 of the greatest scores of all time seem to be linked to some of the worst movies.

Regardless, I love me some Steve Jablonsky work.

As a fan of Jerry Goldsmith's score on Star Trek:TMP, I agree

Was hoping to come in here to see some good news and I'm seeing people discussing the NOES remake, such a shame.

I'm glad we're getting a new score for this new version and not John Williams again.

But I remember this Zimmer fellow said you had to be nuts to re-score Williams' Superman... and now he's doing it? Heh. Words last forever.

I'm guessing Nolan changed his mind.

I'll admit, I don't feel that Hans Zimmer is the best composer that ever was, and feel that he is mostly overrated.

That being said, he has composed some of my favorite musical scores. I love his The Lion King, Sherlock Holmes, Black Hawk Down, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean and Gladiator scores. The Prince of Egypt, particularly, is probably my favorite score from him. It's brought me to tears on multiple occasions, particularly this wonderful piece. I wish that Hans Zimmer would come back:

I'm still a little skeptical of his Man of Steel score, but it's definitely growing on me the more of it that's released online.

I love Zimmer's style and most of his body of work, so far his work on MOS seems to be better than 95% of any of comic book related films ( obviously excluding his Batman scores ).

I agree overall. I think Krypton's Last sounds the most like "classic" Zimmer, and alsothink "What are You Gonna do when not saving the world" will be another favorite from this soundtrack. I think that the MOS score is more than a step in the right direction, and I feel like he'll create a REALLY strong score for the sequel, though this seems pretty good.

Kung Fu Panda was a collab. But yes, Zimmer does have a strong discography.

He composed the second and third Pirates films. He only wrote the first believe. I love his nod to "Once Upon a Time in the West" in AWE. His BB, TDK, and Inception scores are my favorites by the way, but I love a lot of his work. It is funny because growing up I didn't realize a lot of it was his work.

As Zimmer said during an interview before he started scoring MOS, it's not neccesarily a challenge to score a film but a game. You look at the script, get ideas, play around with them and go from there. It works out in the end.

We've had 30 second snippets, but 'Flight' in its entirety cements my confidence in the score alone.

Oh, it's that time again:

-Elevator Man makes a vague detracting comment about Zimmer in vintage trollish manner.
-People rightfully call him out for doing it all the time.
-He backtracks by posting some milder comments.
-Gets away with it.
-Gianakin remembers it's time to press the report button.
