Wanna Blanka, don't you wanna.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, as well as Street Fighter V, will add Blanka as a playable character on February 20, Capcom announced.
Here is an overview of Blanka, via Capcom:
? Overview
First appearing in Street Fighter II, Blanka (birth name, Jimmy), survived a plane crash over the Amazon and learned to fend for himself by fighting wild animals and developing survival skills. He eventually found his way to civilization where he met Sakura and Dan, and developed deep friendships with them over time. Blanka’s mother, Samantha, happened to see him on TV and tearfully reunited with him to bring him home.
In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Blanka is living peacefully with his mother, and has adapted well to being introduced back into society. One day, a suspicious salesman approaches him and offers a way to make Blanka famous by mass producing a doll made in Blanka’s likeness. Will it work? Find out in his character story mode!
? Gameplay
Blanka’s gameplay remains animalistic in nature and sees him scratching, leaping, and pummeling opponents reflecting his time in the jungle. He retains his signature Electric Thunder attack that emits electrical currents around his entire body, which can be continuously performed by repeatedly pressing his punch buttons. Also returning are his multiple rolling attacks, which can be used to approach opponents from different angles or used as a combo ender.
New to Blanka’s arsenal is a command grab called Wild Hunt, where he leaps forward and viciously scratches the opponent before throwing them a set distance away from him. This addition to his move set opens up more opportunities for Blanka to be aggressive.
V-Skill: Coward Crouch
Blanka immediately ducks for cover for a short time before rising back up. His V-Skill can avoid many attacks, including fireballs. After performing Coward Crouch, Blanka can follow up with either Wild Lift (Punch Button) or Raid Jump (Kick Button). Wild Lift sees Blanka move forward while swinging his arms up to launch the opponent in the air and can be followed up by a normal, special move, or even a Critical Art. Using Raid Jump, Blanka swiftly jumps in the air where he can use any mid-air attack to advance.
V-Trigger I: Jungle Dynamo
Blanka’s V-Trigger I gives his special roll attacks more damage and can then be followed up by certain attacks, including his Critical Art. It also powers up his Electric Thunder and changes the animation so Blanka steps forward while unleashing the electric current. On hit, the opponent is launched slightly in the air and can be followed up with a rolling attack.
Finally, Jungle Dynamo unlocks Ground Shave Rolling (HP+HK), which can be used as a combo extender or a way to charge in. This move was a super move in previous games, but is now a special move in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
V-Trigger II: Lightning Beast
Lightning Beast unlocks a special move, Rolling Cannon (Direction + HP+HK), which can be performed after using Rolling Attack, Back Step Rolling, and Vertical Rolling. Rolling Cannon can be used in multiple ways, such as extending a combo for more damage or changing positions to surprise the opponent.
Critical Art: Dynamic Rolling
In this Critical Art, Blanka slams his opponent into the ground in a series of electrifying rolls that ends in a move reminiscent of Lightning Cannonball from Street Fighter IV.
? Pricing and Costumes
Blanka is available individually for MSRP $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money OR as part of the Season 3 Character Pass for MSRP $29.99, which unlocks Sakura, Falke, Cody, G, and Sagat as they become available. If you purchase Blanka as part of the Season 3 Character Pass or with real money, you will also get his Battle Costume with colors 3-10 and default costume colors 3-10. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition adds Cody on June 26
Published 7 hours ago. 11 comments.

The new mayor of Metro City.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will add Cody as a playable character on June 26, Capcom announced.

Here is an overview of Cody, via Capcom:
? Overview
Cody Travers has served his time behind bars, but has now become the new mayor of Metro City. Although quite busy with his everyday duties, he will arrive in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on June 26!
Hailing from the beat-em-up series Final Fight – where Zeku’s pupil Guy was also introduced – Cody first appeared in the Street Fighter series in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Unable to adapt to the peace, Cody was repeatedly thrown into prison – or returned voluntarily – after causing havoc in the streets by fighting through any conflict he could find. He casually broke out of prison in Super Street Fighter IV to search for a cure for his boredom, but ultimately returned by his own free will. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Mike Haggar exonerates Cody of his crimes, which leads to him being the new mayor of Metro City. Though he constantly complains, Cody secretly finds a glimmer of joy in his new position. However, this doesn’t ultimately stop him from solving problems with his bare hands, knives, or pipes…
Cody’s move set in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition resembles that of his previous appearances, but altered to fit his new spiffy style. When not in V-Trigger, Cody can no longer throw rocks as a projectile or unleash a Criminal Upper like before. Instead, Cody now has Tornado Sweep, which sees him shooting a swirling gust of wind like a traditional fireball. Cody still has Ruffian Kick and Zonk Knuckle as special moves. In addition, he now has a few target combos.
? Gameplay
V-Skill – Double Kick
A move from Final Fight, Cody quickly jumps straight up and performs two kicks in the air to both sides. Double Kick can be used as an effective anti-air and in certain situations, it can also end a combo.
V-Trigger I – Sidearm
In this two-block V-Trigger, Cody pulls out his signature knife. Sidearm increases the range on Cody’s normal punches, which also become safer on block while he’s holding the knife. He can also throw the knife by pressing HP+HK again straight at the opponent or at an upwards angle as an anti-air. After throwing the knife, Cody can then pull out his knife again by pressing HP+HK while V-Trigger I is active.
Cody also gains the Rapid Fire special move, which sees him slashing multiple times and is a great combo ender. Even if V-Trigger I’s duration ends, if Cody is still holding the knife, he’ll continue holding on to it until he either throws it or hits the opponent – even on block.
V-Trigger II – Dirty Coach
In this two-block V-Trigger, Cody is armed with his trusty pipe. With the pipe in hand, the range on Cody’s HPs are drastically increased. He also channels his inner baseball player and gains Gentle Swing by pressing HP+HK again or Gentle Upper Swing, the anti-air version.
If you’re wondering where Cody’s rocks went, they’re implemented into this V-Trigger! During V-Trigger II, Cody can use Bean Ball, which sees him tossing a rock in front of him. Though the rock has a hitbox if tossed on its own, Cody can follow up by hitting it with Gentle Swing with varying results. Depending on the timing, the rock will either hit the opponent from the air at a slight arc, smash straight into the opponent for multiple hits, or roll towards the opponent’s feet. Furthermore, if Cody follows up with Gentle Upper Swing, the rock will go flying off screen and eventually land a set distance depending on the punch button that was used.
Though Cody does lose access to Tornado Sweep with the pipe in hand, he does gain the ability to cancel some of his special moves into Gentle Swing. Much like the knife, Cody will hold on to the pipe after V-Trigger II ends until he hits the opponent with it – even on block.
Critical Art – Criminal Punisher
Cody harnesses his past behind bars and unleashes a devastating tornado reminiscent of Criminal Upper from previous games.
? Pricing and Costumes
Cody will be available individually for MSRP $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money OR as part of the Season 3 Character Pass for MSRP $29.99, which unlocks Sakura, Blanka, Falke, Cody, G, and Sagat as they become available. If you purchase Cody as part of the Season 3 Character Pass or with real money, you will also get his Battle Costume with colors 3-10 and default costume colors 3-10.
Take a look at Cody’s Story Costume, which pays homage to the previous mayor of Metro City.

Cody might wear this dashing Battle Costume during the many events he must attend as a mayor.

Get a reminder of Cody’s jailbird past with his Nostalgia Costume that can be altered with the special code to reveal a tank top underneath and the sleeves of his prison outfit tied at his waist.

Go further back into the past for Cody’s first appearance in Final Fight with this simple costume that can also be altered with the special code to reflect the aftermath of a street fight.

? E3 2018 Demo
Cody will be available on June 26, but will be playable at E3 2018 at Capcom’s booth (South Hall, #2223), so stop on by to play the ex-convict! We’ll be over halfway done with Season 3, so make sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay up to date on all things Street Fighter!

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition adds Survival Mode improvements, Fighting Chance system on June 25

Devil May Cry costumes also incoming.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will add Survival Mode improvements and the new Fighting Chance system on June 25, publisher Capcom announced.
Additionally, Capcom is bringing Devil May Cry-themed costumes to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in celebration of the recent Devil May Cry 5 announcement.
Get the details below.
Survival Mode Improvements and Fighting Chance Mode

Cody has heard the calls of the citizens and has decided to start his job as mayor one day early on June 25! Also coming with Metro City’s New Mayor are improvements to Survival Mode and introducing the Fighting Chance mode, including new obtainable skins! Learn more about these features below and how they work.

Current Survival Mode
As you likely know, Survival Mode is a single-player mode where you’re challenged to fight a consecutive number of CPU opponents until you either beat them all or are defeated – if you fail, you must start from the very beginning. There are four separate difficulty settings with different rewards:
  • Easy
    • 10 consecutive opponents
    • Unlocks Color 3 for Default, Story, and Extra Battle Costumes
    • EXP awarded for the first time completed with each character
  • Normal
    • 30 consecutive opponents
    • Unlocks Colors 4, 5, and 6 for Default, Story, and Extra Battle Costumes
    • EXP awarded for the first time completed with each character
  • Hard
    • 50 consecutive opponents
    • Unlocks Colors 7, 8, 9, and 10 for Default, Story, and Extra Battle Costumes
    • EXP awarded for the first time completed with each character
  • Extreme
    • 100 consecutive opponents
    • Unlocks a title
    • EXP awarded for the first time completed with each character
As you progress in each attempt, you’ll rack up score depending on how quickly you defeat the opponent. In between rounds, you have the option of spending some of your score to purchase a Battle Supplement, which will help you against the next opponent in various ways.
But this much you may already know, so what are these improvements we speak of? There are quite a few, so let’s start with the addition of Battle Goods!

Battle Goods

Similar to Battle Supplements, Battle Goods can be used to give you advantages or improve your chances of winning the next round. Unlike Battle Supplements, Battle Goods are consumables, meaning they will disappear once you use them. You can also use up to five of them between rounds whereas you can only use one Battle Supplement.

Once this update goes live, you’ll automatically receive some Battle Goods in your inventory to get you started. You can obtain more Battle Goods by completing Survival Mode – the higher the difficulty, the more rewards – or by participating in the new Fighting Chance mode, which will be discussed below.
Care to Continue or Save Your Progress?
Currently, once you are defeated in Survival Mode, you must start from the very beginning. With this update, you can now spend Fight Money to continue after a loss. If you are defeated, you can spend 1,000 Fight Money to continue without losing progress. When continuing, you will start with a full health bar, EX Gauge, and V-Gauge to make the match fair.
100 consecutive matches can take a while! That’s why we’re adding the ability to save your progress so you can resume at a later date. After clearing a stage, you’ll have the option to open the Save Menu at the Battle Supplements screen. Upon doing so, you’ll be prompted with the ability to Save and Quit. Once you decide you’re ready to continue, you can head to Survival Mode again where a prompt will ask if you’d like to resume play.

Other Improvements
When playing Survival Mode, you can now select Standard or Random, which will affect the CPU opponents. In Standard, only the initial 16 characters will appear in a predetermined order. In Random, all currently-released characters, including those from Season 1-3, will appear in random order – except for the “boss” character that appears every 10 stages.
Finally, any unused V-Gauge will also be carried over into the next stage giving you more options as you take on the increased CPU difficulty..

Introducing Fighting Chance

Battle Goods are potent items that can greatly increase your chance of completing Survival Mode, especially with the increased difficulty.

This brings us to Fighting Chance, a new system where Menat will open up shop to tell your fortune! By spending 500 Fight Money, you can obtain a Fantasy Fortune Reading, which Menat can help you decipher.

These readings contain multiple items, including some exclusive to Fighting Chance.
  • Battle Goods for Survival Mode
  • New colors only obtainable in Fantasy Fortune Readings
  • Rare costumes only available via Fantasy Fortune Readings
  • Cammy’s Cannon Spike costume below is one of these rare costumes
  • We’ll introduce more rare costumes as time goes on!
  • Classic pieces of Street Fighter art from across the series

Upon logging in once the update is live, you’ll receive one free Fantasy Fortune Reading that will walk you through this process!
Devil May Cry Costumes

After the announcement of Devil May Cry 5 at E3 2018, it’s time to bring the party to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition with three different Devil May Cry costumes for Ken, Ed, and Laura!

Dante Costume (Ken)

Dante is the main protagonist of the Devil May Cry series, who serves as a private investigator and Devil Hunter at his very own shop.

Throughout the series, he meets mysterious allies while hacking and slashing through formidable foes – all while being stylish, of course. This particular costume is inspired by Dante’s outfit in Devil May Cry 4, which was released in 2008, and includes his trademark sword Rebellion on Ken’s back.

Using the alternate code will equip Ken with Gilgamesh, a set of armor that includes gauntlets, greaves, a mask, and back armor. In Devil May Cry 4, Gilgamesh focused on slow, but potent attacks.

Nero Costume (Ed)

Nero first appeared as the main protagonist in Devil May Cry 4. He is a Holy Knight in the Order of the Sword, which serves to fight demons and protect the world. Unlike Dante’s carefree attitude, Nero is distant and cynical. Nero acquires the Yamato, a blade that belonged to Dante’s brother Vergil, which then manifests itself as a spectral demon floating behind Nero. This is reflected in Ed’s costume!

Ed takes off Nero’s jacket when using the alternate code to reveal his whole Devil Bringer arm, which can pull in enemies to himself and vice versa – perfectly matched for Ed’s V-Skill!

Both the Dante and Nero costumes will be available for purchase for MSRP $3.99 each on PlayStation 4 and Steam the same day Cody arrives on June 25. This brings us to the Gloria costume, which can be obtained in Extra Battle Mode.

Gloria Costume (Laura)

Appearing in Devil May Cry 4, Gloria is an executive in the Order of the Sword. Her true identity is Trish, Dante’s work partner, from previous games in the series who possesses supernatural abilities of her own. Trish / Gloria is able to use the element of electricity in various ways to aid in combat or even teleport. As an electricity user herself, Laura is the perfect character to wear the Gloria costume. Using the alternate code will replace Gloria’s hair with Laura’s hair.

How Does Extra Battle Mode Work?

Every month, there will be at least one unique costume like a Crossover Costume up for grabs, which can only be obtained by playing Extra Battle Mode with Fight Money. Here’s the flow of how to go about getting these costumes:
  • Each costume requires you to complete four challenges that take place over the span of a month – one challenge per week.
  • Each time you attempt one of these challenges, you will need to spend 2,500 Fight Money. So if you successfully complete each of the weekly challenges in one go, you can get that Extra Battle Costume for 10,000 FM!
  • Once you complete all four challenges, the costume for that month is yours!
  • These challenges are time exclusive, so make sure to log in each week to complete them, especially if you have your eyes on that month’s unique costume.
GloriaNameDate (starts 9:00 p.m. PT and ends 8:00 p.m. PT)CostRewardChallenge 1July 5 to 122,500 FMBootsChallenge 2July 13 to 192,500 FMGlovesChallenge 3July 20 to 262,500 FMTorsoChallenge 4July 27 to August 22,500 FMHead

Air Man Costume (Rashid)

Anxious for the next Crossover Costume after Gloria? With Mega Man 11 sliding on to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 2, we wanted to pay homage to the series by turning our very own master of wind into Air Man, a Robot Master who made his debut in Mega Man 2. If you can’t wait to defeat Air Man, pick up Mega Man Legacy Collection, out now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC.
