Daisy did not do it. Likewise I am hoping for Black Bolt if the answer is TV related character.
My point was that this show has a history of debuting cool characters from the comics that the audience would love to see become a permanent part of the show...and then they leave those characters behind. I never said that they didn't make the characters useful.

Well, that was...interesting. They’ve certainly got me curious as to exactly where they’re going with this.

Yeah, but did we honestly think like Ghost Rider was going to be a permanent member? For a small run, he fit the show but he is not in line with the general tone of the show. I can see what you're saying, but in Ghost Rider's case, I think they did it right and hopefully he gets his own show now.

I only caught part of this. If they’re in the future, do they explain what happened to the Avengers?

Hi. First post here and had to chime in on AOS s5 debut talk.

I was kinda iffy on the thought of the team going to space, but the well crafted story(so far), and Mac's dialog won me over. My curiosity is peaked. With some reservations.
I'm not fond of the Star Lord similarities. I think they could have been more creative than that...Or was Deke inspired by Star Lord's tech? Could be contrived and purposeful.
The Kree certainly feel under powered compared to what we've seen in the past if they can be defeated so easily.

I don't see Black Bolt being responsible for Earth. I can't see Marvel crossing in the Royals anytime soon with the critical failure of the Inhumans show. With the current events taking place 90 or so years from now, I can't see how it was Thanos either. The Lighthouse would have to have been constructed and established before the Earth's destruction. Likely shortly after the events of A3 and or A4, as a measure. As we know, anything can happen in comics, so perhaps Daisy is responsible. Through whatever means or reasons unforeseen. Be it with the help of Gravitron or other tech to advance, enhance, or amplify her power set. History shows drama (and the show) follows, and centers on Daisy. We'll see I guess.

Anyway. I wanted to bring mention this speculation...

"Look, this is not going to come as a surprise to anyone that's ever seen a 100th episode, that there will be a significant event. That's all I can tell you. They gotta get home from space!" -Jeph Loeb.

If you do the math, and give them 2 weeks of no shows for the holidays, episode 100 will be on Feb 16th. The day Black Panther hits theaters in U.S.

This means we can (hopefully) expect a tie in event to the levels of Winter Soldier/Thor 2/Age of Ultron.

Daisy is the biggest Mary Sue on television at the moment so her all of a sudden becoming the most powerful thing in the MCU (to this show) would not surprise me.

The episodes had some strong parts, I really liked Mack's line and the story seems interesting for the most part, but I was missing Fitz and I'm still sick of Daisy.

I liked the premiere a lot. Excited to see the Kree! I liked last season's premiere with Ghost Rider slightly more, but I think we got an interesting potential season here. I wonder if they intend on using the events hinted at in the past as a means to include the Inhumans into the season later (classic hero misunderstanding and team-up against the Kree to stop the Earth shattering event), but if that was the plan, I wonder if the reception Inhumans got may alter that.

I still vote for Thanos, but I could see Graviton. However, not sure if we ever see him. I kept thinking they bring him back a couple of times now.

In my eyes having it be Thanos is too good an opportunity to pass up. I dug the episodes.

Quake just isn't powerful enough to cause damage of that magnitude.

With Infinity War around the corner I'd be shocked if the earth in that alternate universe wasn't destroyed by Thanos.

I'd imagine the gang will discover this by the end of this season and pass the information along to either the Avengers directly, or through Fury.

It's all connected.

This was a great start to the 5th season. The team behind this show has really found their groove and are consistently putting out a high quality product. The story was intriguing and the stakes are high, the FX are pretty phenomenal for a TV show. The new characters are pretty good, Deke, Tess, and Grill all have what appears to be a decent story to tell.

As to the question of whether Daisy actually caused the destruction of Earth, I am going to say she was a contributing factor but not the direct cause. I am hoping that this is Thanos-related, which I think could be done in an interesting way. This way AoS could actually be involved in IW without actually being in the film. Perhaps, someone has the actually history and gives them a retelling, the agents joined up with the Avengers when Thanos arrived. Daisy tries to quake Thanos but the force against the Gauntlet causes a cataclysmic event. Something to do with IW seems most likely to me, but I don't think Graviton can be ruled out. Black Bolt seems unlikely to me.

Finally, I can post. Didn't realize I was still awaiting email confirmation.

My quick personal thoughts were that I was tired of seeing the Kree. They've been such a big part since season 1 and I was wanting to see more in SHIELD than them. I liked that Daisy and Yo Yo were powered helpers while they figured things out, but I wanted less focus on the Inhumans.

Aside from that, my main question was HOW the humans they got to the space station. They said the Kree came to them after the planet blew up, but how did all these humans survive on a planet destroyed to that extent long enough for the Kree to take them? Like all those artifacts, how were they able to get them?

Maybe I just don't understand how life functions on a planet 80% destroyed, even temporarily.

The problem with the whole "Daisy destroyed the world" theory is that, as far as we know, she wasn't even on the planet when that happened. She wasn't even in our galaxy. She simply didn't exist in that time. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team was abducted and sent through the White Monolith approximately a hundred years into the future. According to Deke, the Lighthouse was built some ninety years before his time as an underground survival bunker. After the apocalypse the Kree came and converted the Lighthouse into a space station/slave camp. But Daisy and her teammates were no longer part of that history, because they were abducted before the planet was torn apart and sent to Deke's time. Someone else had to be responsible for the destruction of the planet.

Not sure how well the Royal family has aged over 90 years, but maybe the Royal families offspring could come into play.
Hmm my own prediction might be coming true based on the preview of the next ep.

Inhumans will make an appearance. I'm not sure if there there "guest's" that Kasius described.

Historically, the Kree have an interesting relationship with the Inhumans. They may have spared them during the take over of Earth. Maybe the Inhumans that were left just abandoned humanity and set up there own space colony.

AoS might end up being a better Inhumans show than Inhumans itself.

2 year wait for an email confirmation, or did it go to your junk mail? Either way, welcome

*I have opposite feelings regarding the Kree. I feel they've been underused in the MCU in general so I'm glad there the main antagonist's on AoS.

*Okay the way I understand it, is the bunker was designed by people from Earth in preparation for the end of the world. It was occupied by humanity and while humanity tried to survive, the Kree stumbled upon what was left of the bunker and upgraded it for space survival and went on to dominate the survivors.

They were making references to the station being something built by humans and then repurposed. I think the humans on the station were there before the Earth blew up.

That assumes they don't go back. If they're back to present time before the Earth blows up, there's no issue there. Your argument is like saying "I couldn't commit that crime two weeks from now because I'm somewhere else right now" (or I'm somewhere else four weeks later).

I admit that my theory is not perfect. Deke did say that "S.H.I.E.L.D. tried to save the world" and as a consequence the planet blew up, which could mean:

A) the team will succeed in creating a time machine, go back to the past/present and somehow destroy the planet, or

B) after the team's disappearance the US Government formed a new S.H.I.E.L.D. and that organization, maybe led by Leo Fitz and Lance Hunter, was somehow responsible for the destruction of the planet.

But that still leaves us a few problems. Why was Virgil so sure the team would get teleported to the future? Who were those guys who kidnapped the team on Earth? Were they working for the Kree or for someone else? Is their leader, Enoch, a Kree or member of some other alien race? On the Lighthouse it didn't exactly look like the Kree have some sort of a time travel slave-hunting agency. Did Virgil hire Enoch to kidnap Coulson and his friends in the past? So many questions.

I didn't like this. Took itself way too seriously and it was quite confusing. Quake destroyed the Earth and the other MCU heroes aren't around, yeah right. And the Krees also wear matching black outfits. Eh.

I absolutely loved this. My friend who never watched Shield said he was impressed throughout. He and I watched Inhumans together too (in theaters...).

Why do so many people believe Daisy did that? Obviously not, or at least not by herself.

what do people make about the card from fitz?

and how shield became part of folk lore for this group?

wild speculation but could the light house be built on (up and down) the ruins of attilan? have we seen the moon. a long shot but its an instillation that we already know is in space.

Think the show is going to leave us guessing on a fair bit. There were scenes were the characters were engaging in wild speculation on what the situation is. Sort of echos what is happening here doesn't it.
