Yeah, he's been mentioned. But like you said, there's no chance of that happening. Cavani ideally is the one I'd want if we were to go all out for a new striker.

Barca apparently came out and denied he would be sold after that news made the rounds, but prokies have been told before in the football world.

Man there was some good football today and some big results, no surprise that Bale's hat-trick has gotten headlines even if it was against a team so bad they have shipped 12 goals in 2 games.
Our game with Newcastle was just.....I dunno what to say, crazy drama once again. Exciting to watch for sure but the amount of goals we are conceding is gonna be punished badly sooner rather than later I fear. Is it it me or does Shawcross have some sort of fetish for other players shirts? I've never seen a player pull as much shirt as him. Quote:

Any weight in those Lewadowski rumours? I mean, the way they are presenting it, its as if they aren't even rumours any more!
Why would Sir Alex need a fifth striker anyway? Unless of course, he's realized what we already know- the only thing Welbeck does for United is run around a lot! But really, 18 mill on another striker??? |

I didn't comment when the match was 3-3 yesterday as I knew we'd end up losing 4-3.

I agree. I don't get it either honestly. I mean he's been great for us this season (yes I said us, sue me) and the better part of last season. Yeah he's slow but the problem usually arises when he's stuck in midfield with Scholes and Giggs.

Went to see Fulham/Southampton yesterday, wasn't the greatest game I've ever seen but it was fun none-the-less.
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
It was the quinntessential Carrick performance; 99 passes out of a 100 were sublime, the 1 he gives away results in a goal for the opposition.

It certainly seems that way. But given the crap options we have gone for in recent years, as well as the current state of our set-up, surely a player of his previous potetntial and promise is worth a shot under Wenger's magic.

Apparently, Pato went as far as to come to Atlanta to see a specialist about his constant muscle injuries.

The big question mark over him is when we play teams that have a midfield with pace and technique that pressess high up the pitch, his limited mobility is often exposed. Quote:
That's true but no one in Europe seems interested which makes me wonder if they are privy to his injury info and they all know he's a write-off. |

Anyone else think Fergie having a go at Newcastle is bang out of order? I actually agree with him on Pardew and said pretty much the same thing after I heard his quotes, but this
"I am not like Newcastle, a wee club in the north east." Not right IMO. |

I think SAF is like a season or two away from retiring. I doubt he cares at all lol.

Nah he's been abit of a disrespectful prick throughout his career (and I say that as someone with alot of time for the guy).... he's just been so mellow in recent years, whereas in the past couple of weeks he's been so prissy he'd make Wenger blush!

Still doesn't make it right! I mean, he can defend his actions, that's fine. He can also call Pardew on his double standards regarding talking up officials. But to directly attack and undermine a rival club like that...

Yeah, Fergie has been ridiculous the last couple of weeks.
Other than when he pushed that linesman, I think Pardew is actually relatively mild-mannered by most football manager standards. He's certainly not an Allardyce or a Warnock.

Slur Alex has always spoken out of line and never been punished - I mean he didnt speak to the BBC for years and they were to scared to complain to the FA who could force him to talk to them - great manager no doubt but it's nothing new, and yes it is out of order

Fergie has been punished more than once for speaking out against officials, just the other season he was banned for saying a ref was unfit and then banned again for his comments about the ref in the away game at Chelsea.
I'm not sure why Pardew felt the need to take an initial swipe at Fergie but I'd have preferred Fergie not respond or at least keep his comments directed solely at Pardew, the comment on Newcastle was not only stupid but needlessly petty and classless. Some are saying his recent bouts of anger are a sign he still has the fire, but that loss to City last year seems to have stung him worse than any other failure he has had, I know it's the worst I've ever felt as a fan. So maybe he's giving himself this season to get to number 20 before he calls it a career and that is where the recent outbursts are coming from, he's building a siege mentality. |

The F.A. can't force any manager to do anything, they did however put it in the rules as of the 2010 season I believe that all managers must make themselves available for media, Ferguson didn't for the BBC. They can & did fine him, every single time he refused to speak to the BBC for MoTD from whatever date the rules were changed onwards. The fine would be nothing though in terms of money, I mean a fine for a yellow card in the Premiership (from the F.A. anyway) is believed to be around the £30 mark. He probably was fined about £100 everytime he didn't appear on MoTD. Regarding his comments, I mean he's a grown man he is free to say whatever he wants, within some reason of course.. in the same way that it's OK for Alan Shearer to imply that he was only hassling the referee when he came out because he wanted some favourable decisions to go his way in the 2nd half of the game.. as opposed to what he was actually doing which was still debating the 2nd goal with the referee. He shouldn't be punished for anything he said IMO. |

Well, to be quite honest, we don't know what transpired between him and the referee at half time.
Fergie obviously was angry at the goal (rightly so!) and had a rather animated chat with the referee. He did say later on that he didn't abuse the referee and just had a discussion on how the goal was given. Probably even made a point of Cisse interfering, physically, with Evans' clearance (balls, that- Cisse wasn't THAT near!). Doesn't mean you HAVE to believe what Fergie said. But if the referee had no problem with that, we certainly don't have any reason to doubt him! About the BBC thing, from what I know he has been fined for not talking to the BBC and I personally think that's his call and there's nothing wrong with that! Pardew, apart from that incident has had a pretty clean record, yes. Just that the pushing incident being referred to by Sir Alex made me mention it! |

He was obviously having a heated discussion with the referee as to why he wrongly overturned his linesman & gave a goal even though it was clear that Cisse was interfering with play.
If Cisse wasn't there with Evans, Evans has an easy hoof away, but because he was there the 2 were wrestling with each other and as a result Evans deflected the ball into his own net. The referee didn't report Ferguson for anything he said, so obviously he wasn't giving him any form of abuse more trying to debate/understand why the referee did what he did. |
