Yeah, that's pushing it lol, but how does that solve the age problem in X3? He is nowhere close to 70 years old unless you're saying the gem or in this case his "mutant movie powers" make him younger.

I would like to see a Juggernaut but I doubt they will ever make him Xavier's brother. Maybe a cousin or young uncle, idk.

Charles "freezing" everyone at the CIA, a nice nod to X2.

That and it was a bit of foreshadowing and became a callback technique to be used later..

I agree with this. It would have a terrible payoff if they worked it into the story.

It's simple they aren't related in X3 and Juggernaut was a mutant, otherwise Leech wouldn't have affected him. It's doubtful the character will be brought up.

But the only way I can see there being a connection requires making **** up, like Xavier's step dad is still alive and had child in the late '60s that turned out to be Cain and etc, etc, etc.... That's really the only way for them to be step brothers and deal with the age issue in X3.

Yeah, that's not happening. Let's just say that have NO ties in X-Men movie-verse.

Didn't Vaughn want the X3 Juggernaut to be Xavier's brother?

Maybe, but he didn't direct X3 and there were no references made to them being brothers, so as it stands Juggernaut and Xavier are not related.

Yeah, but like I said that could be easily explained with Xavier wiping Marko's mind.

If you really wanted to you can make every inconsistency fit by thinking something like that up.

Yeah I agree.

Why bring back Juggernaut? He already appeared in X3!

Why does no one think of the easiest way to solve the whole "Magneto helping to build Cerebro" thing?

Easy way to explain it all away. Sentinels (or another big threat) attack mutants, Erik & Charles decide to band together to try to find the mutants before the Sentinels find them.

Bam. Magneto helps him build it, they aren't buddies anymore, problem solved

Maybe we'll find out in another film.

I gotta say, X-men FC made some scenes in X3 actually better.... and deeper (like mystiques depowering, and charles "death")

also... it's not hard to fix some continuity...

1) Moira (simply have the one in X3 be FC's daughter or grand daughter) she's named after her, and begins a close relationship with Charles.

2) In X3's opening scene, Xavier is lecturing Erik about "power corrupting" and Erik says something almost suggesting that he was evil at one time, and is now "rehabilitated" So Xavier and Magneto could easily have become close again in the 80s (they'd sort of have to be anyway to make there friendship seem as deep as it did in the trilogy). In the comics this also happened several times, Magneto has also lead the x-men several times.. (This would be interesting to see in a FC sequel)

3) during the "re-friending" Magneto helps charles (using his powers) build a new cerebro in the mansion sub-basement

4) during this "re-friending" magneto could also fashion a device to help charles walk (thus explaining X3 and XO wolverine

5) the XO cyclops cameo could still work (still doubt the baseball player was him.. he just wore glasses... they werent red)... so his (as well as storms) are sort of throw away cameos (sort of like Dani Moon Star, Colossus and Jubilee in X1)

6) Emma frost in XO was simply just named Emma... Kayla had the last name Silverfox, so one would assume Emma has the same last name... she also was not a telepath, and her diamond form was visually different then Emma's in FC.

The only thing that simply just truly doesn't fit, and can't be undone, is that in X1 Charles tells wolverine he met Erik when they were 17.

I think Jean was also in the Cerebro scene in the same shot as Cyclops...the girl with brown-reddish hair who gets checked by a doctor.

The scene with Xavier on the beach and the rest of the team comforting while he says he can't feel his legs is an homage to the last scene in Layer Cake.

From the camera angle and all. Found that pretty awesome.

I'm 100% sure that the girl being check by a doctor, was not Caucasian

I don't get all this insistence that Vaughn has too follow any continuity. It's his movie, he did well, better than Singer and Ratner, there's no reason to make this cast make a heaping ton of character changes to cater to a series of movies that are over a decade old now (first and almost second film).

As far as I understand it, all of the characters and everything were written and in place before he even came on, so who knows how much influence he had on some of those inconsistencies.

It was probably of course a mutual decision to work with what they had, but whatever...it worked well enough for the story.

It bothered me that a lot of great characters had such small roles and lines, but I guess that's Hollywood. Would have really liked to see Ironside have a bigger role as the true badass he is. Heck he alone could have changed the whole tone of the movie.
