It did seem to me as though the majority of the Brotherhood didn't even seem to possess any "powers". And if they did none of them were using them. When you rewatch, just watch how simply Wolverine, Beast, Kitty and Collosus are just swatting them all away like flies. The Brotherhood are just running at them. USE YOUR POWERS, MAN!

Well, we saw a bunch of flying and teleporting mutants at the beginning of the scene, but then we also saw a whole lot of them being cured as well...We saw maybe 4 or 5 other mutants using their powers, but that was it, but knowing what we know now of how much had to be cut out of the film due to time and money, I would say that it is safe to assume that there were probably gonna be alot more "evil" mutants displaying their powers, but in the end, they probably just didn't have enough time for the VFX.

Yeah you're probably right TNC.

Plus, I just had a thought. A whole bunch of the mutants were cured, but they weren't dead. A lot of them probably got up and carried on fighting.

Plus the x men are exceptionally skilled. Most of these brotherhood mutants were taken from gangs and such, not exactly warriors, with the exception of Callisto, juggernaut and the few.

But still, all it would take would've been for one of the brotherhood to have an attacking power and they could probably take some of the x-men down. That mutant that spat fire or whatever could probably have took out Beast

Magneto used them to wear the troops down. He had his main mutants to finish the job on the hill.

All the new Brotherhood members Mags recruited were levels 1-3. If you notice in the church scene...Calisto mentions that Magneto and Pyro were the only mutants in the room of 87 with a level higher than 3. So Magneto's army was full of "Pawns" or weak, not very powerful mutants. I wouldn't use my power if it were writing down lectures on paper by passing my hand over it. We do not know all those mutants powers and I can bet you most were probably useless in battle.

And that is how Uncle Ben dies.

True. But can it be safely assumed that Mags would've atleast briefed his troops on the Xmen's abilities? Where as the Xmen faced several hundred mutants without knowing the extent of their abilities. For example if Kitty was a truly "evil" mutant she could just calmly approach mutants and phase their hearts out. I know rather gruesome but is it difficult to imagine someone experimenting with their own powers? X1 and X2 was a little better about these details.
