Dream Drop Distance, Birth By Sleep, and 2.8 seem to be needed to not be completely lost on the narrative in 3. Same with having to play Chain of Memories to understand half of what was going on in KH2.

Thanks guys. But alas, screw it. I suddenly remember why I lost interest in KH2. It took so much work to just follow the basic plot. I was contantly Wiki-ing and trying to figure out what was going on. I really like the premise of this series, but it takes so much of an investment.

KH2 wasn't that hard to follow as long as you had played Chain of Memories. Everything you needed to know was there and the first one. Of course, if you didn't have a GBA at the time you were kind of screwed until the PS2 remake of it came out.

But now, yeah. With all of the spin-offs and ****, it's impossible for me to really wad through what this series is really even about anymore.

Yeah KH2 had great gameplay but was confusing as heck and being such an early entry in the series, it didnt need to be

How many enemies are there now? Do the Heartless still matter? I know there's the Nobodies, Heartless, Unbirths, and now dream creatures... Too confusing!

The fact that we need a wiki to keep up with how convoluted this series has become is a bad sign.

hmmm convuluted isn't the word for this it's the fact it was on system's that not every one bothered to keep up with with each installment made. Due to preference of certain audience or other reasons that they could get those installments among other reasons (lack interest due tone game) and they didn't put thyem out on those systems that stayed to certain ones (systems) it's all spread OUT.

In other word's it's case of access ability in an on going series story in the game format. and people not being able to keep up cause it was separated on separate competing systems / platforms to a degree and people preferring a certain brand of those platforms at times and more there. Alot was at play.

Which of the 3 character stories in Birth by Sleep would you say gives you the most "story" if you only play through it once? I've been working my way through KH HD 2.5 in preparations for 2.8's release and I don't think I'll have time for more than one play-through.

Well good thing about the modern age is, we can always watch playthroughs on YT to fill in any missing areas in the story.

True, and I do plan on doing that. I've already played through each character's story when it came out on PSP. I just feel there's more enjoyment for the story when I'm uncovering it myself.
