Maybe, but from what I remember, Manny Riskin(?) said that if Jordan were to resign and pay the SEC fines Agent Denham would be left "with his dick in his hand," implying powerlessness. I had the impression that the feds wouldn't be able to do anything to him if he abandoned Wall Street.

Did anybody else laugh or chuckle at Belfort talking about the private jet explosion?

Not really but I loved that scene especially for bringing up a great classic 80's song back to my memory.

By the way, does anyone know what song is playing over the arrests of Jordan and the swiss banker and rugrat? It also continues over the benihana diatribe. It has a part every so often that goes "ooooooooeeeeeeoooooooo!" and it sounds like the lyrics aren't in English but I can't find it on the soundtrack listing. Anyone got a clue?

I'll also say that how that infomercial turned into an arrest was hilarious.

Great movie. Up there with one of Scorese's best.

What did you guys get out of the last scene with the FBI agent on the subway system? I took it that he's just as much of a prisoner to life that Belfort was at the very end.

For the important distinction that Belfort got to live as he wanted without any bars and ended up paying with 3 years of his life in an upscale prison while the FBI agent had to keep facing the underground jail tube every day of his life.

Belfort lost a lot but for an instance got to live uninhabited while the FBI agent seemed completely miserable and to have something of a chip on his shoulder and to envy Belfort deep down inside thus his deep dedication to bringing him down. He was essentially bringing down an alternate version of himself.

Thought that was interesting.

Did Donnie rat out Jordon with the yellow note?

That's what I was wondering too. I can't believe that Jordan would be dumb enough to forget something like that. That part had me thinking too.

Thanks man. I hate it when I hear a good song used in a film and when I check the soundtrack it isn't on there. It really worked well in the scene. The Umberto Tozzi original version of Gloria which is also in the film also isn't on the sountrack listing. But there I was at least already familiar with the song so I was able to hunt it down. This one was completely unknown to me so it was driving me nuts looking for it.

Ya know, upon further reflection I'm moving this film up another notch on my 2013 list. It's now my #2 pulling ahead of Gravity which falls to #3. This film just has it's hooks in me. Seen it 4 times already.

I was watching the Charlie Rose interview with Leo and Marty and I wouldn't have guessed that this was Leo's passion project and that he was the one who sold Scorsese on it. These two definitely have a very sympatico collaborative spirit between them.

Another scene I found hysterical was during the plane flight when Jordan had to be restrained. I died when he was pulling down on rugrats' toupee, I swear.

In a world where all is fair DiCaprio would win Best Actor but the Academy hates him for one reason or another so he won't.

I can see Leo getting a Golden Globe for Best Actor since the nominees in that category don't include Ejiofor as Solomon or McConaughey as Woodroff. Still, I'm not sure he'll be able to edge out Joaquin. I think he would win it over Bale though.

What the heck is this movie? oh dear lord, i loved it! This movie grabbed me and didnt let go. Definitely one of my favorites from Scorsese, and one of the best of the year. Leo is fantastic in this. I'd be more than fine if the academy award for best actor goes to Chiwetel or Leo. Very solid 9/10. Might rate it higher, but i want to give it at least another watch before making up my mind.

"It had taken almost ninety minutes for these little ****ers to kick in, but once they had…WOW! I had gone straight past the tingle phase and right into the drool phase. Actually, I had discovered a new phase, somewhere between the drool phase and a state of unconsciousness. It was the…what was it? I needed a name for this phase. It was the cerebral palsy phase! Yes! My brain would no longer send clear signals to my musculoskeletal system. What a wonderful new phase! My brain was sharp as a tack, but I had no control of my body. Too good! Too good!"

That's the one scene that'll forever stand out from the rest. Like the "how am I funny?" scene in Goodfellas or the "you're ordering me out?" scene in Casino. Its a classic in the making. "Hhhhnngggggg upppppppppp daaaa ffffooooonnnneeeee!!!! Ddddaaaa ffffffffff bbbbeeeeeee eeeeeeeyyyyyyyyeeeee!!!"
