So, I have a question about the regular PSP. Do any of the non-Go models have any internal memory at all?

Man, this is a great time to have a vita for horror fans: Night Cry is coming soon, and so is forgotten memories. I'm also waiting for Ikyi no Roushi, and I hope it's open world. It seems a Yakuza game is supposed to be released... Man, if it has english subtitles, it will be paradise... I'm currently playing Muramasa Rebirth, and it's really great.

A bit OT to the thread, but for those who have original PSPs, how do the PS1 titles look on them?

The hell!? When did the Vita go down to $80, I thought it was still $200!

EDIT: Oh, it's the PS TV.

I would've considered getting the bundle if it's on sale, too, because $50 isn't a bad idea if for nothing else but having it for PSP titles I never played and revisiting PS1 titles, but I looked at the compatibility list, and it not compatible with a good deal of stuff I want to use it for.

All used Vita games are $7.99 on Best Buy's website. Not sure if there's any newer stuff, but seems to be a good selection. But it is in store pickup only

Yeah, I'm not sure what the problem is. Just go to BestBuy.com and go to the Vita page. You can filter pre-owned games there.

Don't feel too bad, almost none of them are available. Most of them are in story only, and virtually no store has used Vita games. It's just a way to get rid of the clutter. Gravity Rush was available for shipping though.

Does this thing ever go on sale? I see great sales for games all the time, but I've only seen the Vita go on sale once. You'd think with sales the way they are, they'd do more.

199.99 just seems too steep. Especially with the way the memory cards work. Maybe for 179.99 with a 8 GB memory card, I might consider.

I'm holding out for a 2015 Black Friday sale, but even that's not a given.

200 dollars? that means that in all this time there was only a $50 price cut. and even then the proprietary memory cards are exorbitantly priced.

I wonder if it would've been possible for sony to have made a ps vita model at launch with a built in hard drive

They could use standard memory cards, like the 3DS. But then they'd have to pay SanDisk, Matsu****a, and Toshiba royalties. And they're worried about hacks. Still, I think in the long ruin it would pay off. Cheaper memory, more space for games, people buy more games.

ah, yeah. PsP allowed for the standard cards right? in hindsight, the PsP was still kind of a success, but it was a friggin turtle when you compare it to its competitor, which is pretty much tied now with the Ps2 as the best selling video game platform of all time.

and they went with proprietary memory cards coz they were worried about hacks?

c'mon man. hackers will have their ways with almost anything. as long as they aren't actually harming anyone then it's not a problem.

That's the official line. I'm not sure I buy it. But Sony has been so illogical with the Vita, it's hard to say.

The sad thing is that the Vita is a great system. Sony could do so much more with it.

they said the reason why they do proprietary is to avoid hackers?

well I don't care about that. not an excuse to sell cards that high. hell, there's no excuse.

they probably would've made way more money off vita sales than the money they would've lost in whatever way due to hacks if they priced everything better.

The PSP used Sony's propietary memory cards instead of the standard SD cards that were cheaper and already on the market.

Pretty sure they've never really commented on it.
