Default The Sights and Sounds of Gotham

Leeds General Infirmary is currently in the news, for entirely bad reasons. It is a remarkable building, however, which I think would be a great location for Arkham Asylum:

I am really interested to see people's suggestions for other landmarks in Gotham City.

Alcatraz as Blackgate Prison. Of course it's too well known in the US. But with a little CGI it could work.

Something went wrong with my post above. But nevermind. That's Alton Towers in Staffordshire, UK. That building plus some CGI could make some decent Arkham Asylum.

Plus: This old castle lies within a theme park of the same name (http://www.altontowers.com). So if the film crew needs some Joker scenes in an old theme park/carnival - they could also do it right there.

And - this place is not far away from here:

I think Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral would be a great setting for a B89 style showdown. I could imagine The Scarecrow living in the rafters.

I don't know what thread to put this in, but for the reboot's visual style, I'm thinking of something like this:

While Nolan talked about Blade Runner being an influence on BBegins, it was more so the feel and detail. For the reboot, I think they should emulate the actual colour palette:

or something like so: (Shanghai)

I think something like this would retain the sleekness and modern feel of TDKT while distinctly breaking away from it with a different colour palette; one that matches this potentially shared universe.

One might say that what I'm describing here is merely the Arkham videogames; but for some reason I never liked the style of those games other than the trailers. I think it might have something to do with the ugly lighting in the actual gameplay and the overall art direction, not the style/colour palette.

Interesting post. It would certainly fit with "downtown" Gotham. I think the gaudy, neon glamour would contrast nicely with the gloom and grit of the more deprived parts of the city.
