In terms of design, Snyder's been faithful to the comics. His Superman was based off Jim Lee's he said. I'm sure his Batman will be like Jim's since Zack is a big fan of Jim.

I was thinking more Hush but either that or New 52. Jim's company was behind the concept art for Batman Arkham Asylum so the suit could look like any of those 3.

After seeing Saint's manip of the Captain America suit on display from discussion of the suit during the TDKR days, I remembered there were some manips of the whole suit based on promotional/concept art. So, I just Googled it and went through a few pages of the thread I found.

Someone said my name, so I did appear.

Saw this in the previous thread:

Uh, sign me up, please. Josh Brolin and all. Maybe slap an oval on it.

I don't think you could go that far under the chin. The actor needs to move his mouth.

Otherwise, I like the cowl. I dig the way the line comes up the side to form the ear and how it rests on top of the nose -- although the nose could be less hooked.

Side Note: I love the name of that jpg.

Hate the chin strap. Hate the lines leading with the ears like Wolverine's. Hate the 4 pronged gloves/gauntlets, make it 3 instead like it's supposed to be. Other than that, it's not bad.

It doesn't look like Wolverine's mask at all to me.

Holy crap I love this art!

That is an awesome take on the cowl! I love the slightly new look!

The rest of the suit is good too, but it seems more or less in line with the Batman Begins suit.

I wish the artist had gone in a similar, slightly new direction with the rest of the suit.

But man, hats off to that cowl!

I think we're going to see a BTAS-style Batman(wiser, slightly older compared to the rookie Bats of the first two Nolan movies) and the INC suit is perfect for that..with Captain America materials.I want the damn oval!

As far as diverging from Nolan's suit is concerned, I'd be okay with:

A. less armor, thinner/lighter fabric as long as it's explained as some high tech bulletproofing.
B. as much yellow as they want, belt, logo whathaveyou. As long as it's not too too harsh and not plasticy/rubbery.
C. Things like full cowl, pointy ears, and briefs I can tolerate so long as they serve a function. Granted, I can't think of much function those particular things can serve. But that's not my job. :P

Full cowl, to wrap himself up and let him hide easier. Pointy ears-the Batmask has an antenna inside, why NOT have longer ears?

The briefs.. Okay, I'm sorry. They have to go. Superman's been made of for years for having them in film (despite the fact that Batman wore them in comics for as much as Superman did). Imagine the BatRage from fans when their favorite hero wears his shorts on the outside.

Wrong. There are plenty of fans that like the trunks that have been a part of the costume for over seventy years.

I have no problem with the trunks in the comics but I think giving them to Batman in this particular DC film universe would not be a good idea.

Your title of "The Oldest Geek" leads me to believe you have been a Batfan for several decades. I think I once saw you mention something about your age, and if my memory serves me correctly, you might really be the oldest Batman fan here?

If so, I just want to say that I'm sorry you will most likely never see Batman's trunks on a live action version of the character before the end of your lifetime (not counting West's).

You say there's no reason trunks wouldn't work, and maybe you're right. There is no legitimate way to discredit them, and if a filmmakers really wanted to, he/she might be able to make the trunks work. But let's just be logical here. It's probably not going to happen this go-around. Does not seem likely at all, so the trunk supports should once again brace themselves for a lack of trunks on this new Batman.

A. Yes you're right, I am an old fart Batfan, been a fan since BEFORE Adam West came around. And, I suppose that's part of the reason I prefer the trunks, I'm just so used to seeing them after about 50 years of being a Bat-fan, that the suit just looks really odd to me without them.
B. Yes you are probably right, I have my doubts as to whether I'll ever see a live-action Batsuit with the trunks and I'm actually OK with that, as long as the suit is well designed otherwise. (I kinda like the new "52" design) It just bothers me when I see people saying such things like the trunks "won't work" in a movie ,whatever the hell that's supposed to mean, or such monumentally childish reasons like they "look stupid".
