Nice one mate. There goes that plan. But i believe the location of Dubrovnik is accurate. Apparently the mayor or someone in local government announced Bond people were looking at the location and came to town.

Yeah, they regularly put out articles about what the new title of the Bond movie will be and various plot details that never emerge.

Yeah I can buy that it'll probably be shot (in part) in Croatia and that the working title probably is Shatterhand.

Though the actual plot being taken from Benson's novels, well, that's just crazy talk on the Mirror's behalf.

Why would they use the name Shatterhand but not use the Garden of Death? Why taken the plot about some blind villain from one of Benson's novels? With a blind villain, Bond just has to bombard his enemy's senses with sound, smell etc and can defeat him. Also, the villain might be searching around on the table either for his gun to shoot Bond with (not knowing Bond has already taken it) or might even be fumbling around for the intercom to call in his henchmen.

Well if the film takes inspiration from the YOLT novel (which is likely if they intend to close off Blofeld's arc) then Shatterhand is just as likely as another thematically relevant title origininating from that story. For a working title at the very least.

As for the blind villain...like I said, crazy talk.

I'm hoping the story is indeed nonsense. The only thing that gives me pause is that its the kind of mediocre story that Purvis and Wade would be attracted to , and its also the type of film they would write.

They really should get new writers with a fresh outlook instead of going with the same old same old again.

Get writers who won't make it a personal mission but just something Bond is assigned to. It's been "this time it's personal" for the last 28 years since Licence to Kill. Give us something like the early Bond adventures.

From what I understand, the EON people don't want an American director.

Also, sounds like Bigelow wasn't interested either.

How many British female directors are there?

Doesn't have to be British, just non-American. Lee Tamahori was from New Zealand. Marc Forster is German.

I always found that rule to be idiotic. The idea behind it is that American directors won't understand and bring out the British feel that Bond embodies. But a German or continental Euro can?

And both of those films sucked.

Which one did Marc Forster do? Die Another Day was a big turd.

Forster directed 2008's Quantum of Solace.

Not disagreeing there Ramsus. But I think looking at history, the EON folks are deadset against allowing an American to direct the franchise. Not sure if that's changed, but that seems to be the case.

Oh Quantum of Solace was another turd.

Olga Kurylenko was wasted on that film. But fortunately Gal Gadot dodged that bullet.

Quite a few. I assume someone has already mentioned Susanne Bier (the night manager). Along with Tom Ford she is my favourite choice

I'd love for Tom Ford to direct a Bond film. I didn't know EON were prejudiced against American directors. That's very stupid.

I like we have 3 007 anniversaries this year, 40th of the spy who loved me, 30th of the living daylights, and 20th of tomorrow never dies.
