They should come back at the end of DoFP, then have them star in the movie that comes after DoFP with a re-telling of Dark Phoenix saga. I hope the point in the timeline they are at by the end of DoFP is right after X2.

This may be old but...here goes:

Famke Janssen Won't Confess To 'Wolverine' Cameo, Hopes For More 'X-Men' Movies
Posted 1/7/13 3:10 pm EST by Josh Wigler in Marvel, News

Will the "Future" of "X-Men" include more Jean Grey? It's certainly possible, considering that Bryan Singer is assembling some of his old X-pals for "Days of Future Past." But it's also possible that someone familiar, like Jean, could appear even earlier, based on Hugh Jackman's own admission that there's an X-Men cameo in "The Wolverine."

For her part, Famke Janssen won't cop to the rumors that she has a "Wolverine" cameo, despite reports that put her in Sydney, Australia around the time of shooting. Asked point-blank when the last time she visited Australia was, Janssen played coy and told MTV News, "I don't know. I have no idea!"

As for whether or not she'll ever return to the X-Universe, she said, "I'm waiting by the phone. It would be very surreal. I would be honored to be a part of any of these 'X-Men' movies. It would be great."

It might be great, but it won't be easy, given where things left off with Jean Grey in "The Last Stand."

"She died as Jean Grey and she died as the Phoenix. Is there another incarnation of her that we haven't seen? I don't think so," said the actress. "Bryan Singer is a very smart guy, but if we go younger, I'm out too. I'm all for an interpretation of that on whatever front. I'd be thrilled."

While we were on the subject, we asked Janssen for her honest assessment of the way "The Last Stand" treated the Phoenix saga so popular in the "X-Men" comics.

"I think we could have done more," she confessed. "To me, it felt like it should have been a 'Wolverine' movie — it's own movie. But there were a lot of other people who needed their screen time for whatever reason…"

Wow...So she felt there could have been more to X-Men 3. Thank you, Famke. She's right though and to me, other people should have gotten their screen time they deserved. *sighs*

I know how you feel; I went through similar feelings about Storm. But after awhile you just have to accept the fact that we won't know until they tell us. As I always say, time will tell the tale. The truth is, Scott's appearance may be an Easter Egg we know nothing about until the film is actually in theaters. So, we have to just "keep faith alive" as you mentioned.

But it just seems pointless not to have Scott in this movie.....and esp with the professor coming back....maybe Bryan is saving the big announcement for last

Yes, but the point is I had to wait for months for today's news to come. MONTHS. So...hang in there. We've still got a lot of time.

Its not pointless especially if he has nothing to do with the story or if he's not gonna do anything special. Even in the cartoons, there were episodes that didn't have Cyclops. And look at Origins, Cyclops didn't have to be in that movie but he was in the movie.

Yeah, until they stop the event in the 70s there is no reason to add Cyclops.

How does everyone forget the professor should not be in his old body in this movie since it was utterly destroyed by jean as well, he transferred his mind to a completely different body so if he could add Xavier he could add others such as cyke, just saying. He has to explain how Xavier has his old body since he should not in days of future past and this is time travel anything could happen

Well Wolverine was at the centre of X3, Mystique was Xavier's best friend, etc. so the source material isn't much indication of the characters that will appear. I wouldn't write off Cyclops because he was dead in the comics during DoFP. I agree with summers that the professor being back shows that this movie isn't going to hold anything back, including Cyclops. Plus, alternate timelines/futures!

Please just stick to keeping your fingers crossed instead spamming the thread with a ton of pictures.

We all want him back, and we know what he looks like. No need to go beserk with the pictures and the begging. Have patience.

Prof X was explained alive at the end of X3 just like it was hinted Mags powers are back. Unless they start with a complete Alt future there is no reason to bring a dead character back to life in a future where basically all the X Men get slain.

Im sure he will be fixed by the end but doing this that early in the film seems very off to me given X3 and the story this film is based on.

There are a million reasons why the explanation at the end of X3 will not be used.

I dont see why not. Regardless of the films mistakes everything is still held in canon as of now. And Singer seemed to confirm this.

XAVIER WAS ALIVE YES BUT IN A DIFFERENT BODY, watch the movie again lol He explains in the beginning of transferring the mind of another into the man who was in a coma. Xavier's old body was destroyed permanently, that needs some serious explanation. Moira with with the man in the coma at the end of the film and she heard the professor because he inhabited a new body.

^

I can't see the general audience accepting that Xavier conveniently had a comatose twin brother that no one knew about, and he transferred his mind into him, and is still wheel chair bound (Bryan tweeted a pic of Patrick Stewart's wheelchair). That explanation is ripe for ridicule.

Moira is the one who discovered him, reminding the audience that there are two Moira's! Only more convoluted explanations that will turn everyone off.

It was a post credits scene from movie made 7 years ago. Only fans acknowledge that it actually exists.
