I think POTA is actually kind of the perfect franchise for Giacchino. Alot of the music he did on LOST would fit perfectly into that environment. Not the emotional stuff, but more when the characters were exploring a new place, like Michael being taken to the fake camp for the Others and such.

Composer on the Marvel movies are so disposable. Image if each Star Wars film had different composers with different main themes.

I mean, he basically payed homage to John Barry's 007 music in The Incredibles, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did something similar with this film.
