Yeah, Most of them are right outside my back door. I live next to a pond. Some of the shots are on my way to where I work. The farm is on my way in.

Nice work everyone! I really like that painting! I'll be shooting my first engagment shoot this Sunday if everything goes as planned, but we shall see...

Anyways, today I took my son to Monster Truck's here in El Paso, and carried my wife's point and shoot since it would be to hard to keep track of him, and lug my equipment. So here is a few snaps, nothing great or awesome, but thought I would share anyways. This was harder than ya think due to the delay on these things; I've become spoiled!

Your kick ass monster truck photos make me sad that I've never been to a monster truck show.

Thank you, I just hate the delay on point and shoots, tho. =/

Here is a few that I did today for my first engagement shoot. At this point I am trying to find a style, and be a little more creative with my shoots.

And the wrong factor...I didn't know where else to put this.

Wish this would have been a little crisper, but as some of you know, sometimes that's just what you get with the "in-the-moment" action shots.

Hi guys, I'm glad there's a photography thread on SHH. I like what posters have posted I would like to start my own little hobby and is there any good magazine or book that would help me to get started as well getting a DSLR?

Thanks.

I don't have a photo to put in here, but as you guys and girls obviously have a lot of talent, I want to ask a question...

I'm looking at getting a digital SLR camera sometime in the next few months. Mainly to coincide with my trip to New York this October. I aim to get some great shots of the Enterprise Space Shuttle (to add to the photographs I took 30 years earlier at Stansted Airport) and stuff at the NY Comic-Con.

Anyway, I was thinking that perhaps it would be a good idea to get something that also had fair to good video recording capability too.

Any thoughts, advice and/or recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Now, back to the pictures... !

I have a Canon 1000D (although the cupcake shot above was an iPhone 4S photo), it's not got a video function, but I understand the next camera up in the range does.... But I forget which one that is though.

I'm guessing by your Stansted Airport comment Deathlok, that you're a Brit? If so, I'd google 'Camera World'. I found them very helpful when I bought my camera... If you are also near enough to their two stores, I'd highly advise popping in as well.

I am indeed a Brit, but if I can get a great deal in the US, I'm prepared to hold out until I hit Manhattan in October.

But will check out what you said, thanks.
