So since this takes place during the 80's, i assume CM power set is that she doesn't age like a normal human?

A Hootie and Blowfish curated soundtrack with an N’Sync end credits song.

I'm kind of hoping it's more of a time-displacement thing here rather than her ageing really slowly due to the powers, or them "Steve Rogers"ing her in some form of stasis.

Just do the whole "she's so far out in space that more time's passed on earth than what she's experienced personally" science thing. 20 years, 25 years, whatever, has passed here, but it's only been 2 or 3 for her. That's not too complex for the general audience, you can explain that away pretty quickly.

Yeah, loving those pictures from the base too. Obviously no guarantee they're going with this particular plane for the movie, it's probably more just a "general research, hanging with some pilots for the day" thing than anything too informative for the film, but still.

As a bit of an aviation dweeb I'm still hopeful this is the way they're going. We've had F-22's in Iron Man, the F-35 in Avengers, and pretty much every other modern action/sci-fi movie featuring jets is one of those two models now. Would be a cool way to separate this a bit, play up the period angle along with the inevitable fashion/music/cultural stuff they'll do. Guess we don't know when in the 90s this'll be, I'd kind of assume it wouldn't so much be '90/'91 with the Gulf War, probably later. Likewise Kosovo was '98, maybe a little late. Pretty sure we flew NATO sorties over Bosnia though, more mid-90s, maybe Carol could have been involved in all that? 1995 or whatever.

But yeah, Carol rockin' it in a second generation upgraded F-15C or F-15E would be way too cool. Just that awesome silhouette, iconic fighter-bomber stuff right there. We see the stealth stuff all the time these days, let's go with something a little more classic and combat-proven.

Frelling stoked out of my mind. I can NOT wait for this. When we were all guessing about who would be cast for this role, I never really considered Brie. Now that she's in, I couldn't be more excited. I've watched some of her performances and think she's going to knock it out of the park. She has....."it". The camera loves her.

Has there been anything mentioned about Brie getting in physical shape yet? I love how committed she is to 'fighter pilot Carol' but what about the actual physical condition? Has there been any info on training?

Also is there a chance for a better box office for this because of the long time without a Marvel movie? Ant-Man & Wasp is pretty much right after IW and then 8 months with no Marvel movie. When is the last time there was so much time between 2 Marvel movies?

Nope. I'm inclined to suspect that she hasn't, not yet at least.

I suspect Brie has been keeping somewhat fit. She did show those custom 'Captain Marvel' Nike's on Instagram a while back.

Yeah she just needs to be "Air Force pilot" fit, nothing too extreme.

From everything I've seen, Brie looks just fine for the part.

It's in a pretty sweet spot box office wise since she's mostly avoiding the superhero gridlock that's filling up the rest of the year (not unlike the decision to release Black Panther in February). There's not much coming out in March other than the Dumbo remake and the new Godzilla (which I am not expecting to be huge). Shazam doesn't hit until the following month.

I wonder if Brie can out-laugh Chris Evans.

There wasn't anything wrong with Thompson and Lily either, yet they were still asked to gain some muscles mass for their respective roles.

I hope some of this movie feels a bit like the first Iron Man. They have the potential to do that with the fighter jets.

Yeah. Tangible/hard-hitting military feel of the Favreau Iron Man flicks, with the heart & earnest characterization of Johnston's Captain America, with the trippy Guardians visuals for the alien stuff.

Would be pretty much perfect, equal balance of each.

She hit the gym for Kong; I'd say it's pretty much a given that she'll do the same (and more) for this.

Whatever shape she's in now will be pretty much what's presented in the film. She won't look dramatically different.

Looks good to me.

Huh... now that I think about it, why would she start training now that she's already done filming Avengers 4?

You never know...Boseman trained after filming Cap 3.
