Skip sure does have a vendetta against the Ravens. He was super happy that the Patriots are #1 on the power rankings even though Stephen A. and Herman Edwards had valid points as to why they shouldn't be.

I was pretty tired this morning, but I swear I heard someone say the Cowboys should be number one.

Exactly. I am a Steelers fan and even though I would like to see the Ravens lose games, I have a valid reason to and can always admit when the Ravens play well. They blew out Cincinnati like it was nothing. Joe Flacco played an amazing game. It was scary. They should be #2 behind San Francisco in the power rankings.

Oh no, not #1. Many teams outplayed the Cowboys in week 1.

Weren’t they training together during the lockout though of last year? Why wouldn’t you want to train with another elite player (both considered the best in the league) during a league lockout? If one of the best players of the league invited me to train with him I’d definitely take it. Who cares if they happen to become friends? Durant accepted his invitation again, so what? It’s not like they’re even in the same conference. Magic & Bird had a documented and memorable friendship and what difference would that have made if they trained together for a week in the offseason? Skip is really pushing it.

I don’t see the issue because it’s not like it’s a given these guys are gonna be squaring off every year in the Finals against each other. I don’t know, I don’t think these elite players ever have the mentality of wanting to take other players out of a game (as far as how hard someone plays against someone). If Kobe invited Durant to train together during the offseason would it be an issue like Skip described? Or would people look at it like “Kobe’s passing the Western Conference torch to Durant” and mentoring him?
