hip hop needs more groups. not "movements", not "crews", but actual groups. With a DJ and other backup musicians.

hip hop needs more women. Not just solo acts, but groups. Image-wise, everybody can't be the stripper queen.

hip-hop needs more topics besides "the hustle" or "the trap". Radio-wise, things are beyond ridiculous.

There is still good stuff out there, just have to dig for it more than ever...

I think it's a lot of good Hip-Hop out there. With more artists online with so many different styles. There is a lot to discover,a lot of trash too.I' may be going overboard, but I'll take the current state of Hip-Hop over what we had about 8-10 years ago.

On a side note Meek Mill just released his Drake response, and eh...I'm not a fan.It sound like every other Meek Mill song to me.

Meek Mill let Drake s*** all over him. I mean, Drake didn't even hand him some toilet paper to wipe it off. Can anyone honestly say otherwise?

ha ha. I was actually a camp counselor a few weeks ago and we held a dance for the campers. The nae nae song came on and by the 2nd verse I knew the song and "dance"

But idk man. There was always corny music. I mean I love the song but come on "all I wanna do zoom a zoom zoom zoom" "let me see you tootsie roll" there were and always will be stupid dance songs.
People whining and complaining about the state of hip hop are looking at things with rose tinted glasses. There was always corny, stupid stuff. Vanilla Ice? A lot of MC Hammer's output...come on

And there is so much good music out there and with the internet you can access it so damn easily. I wouldn't say hip hop is a better shape but it's still good

It's just a pet peeve of mine when people go "Man back in the day _____ was so much better. What is this nowadays"

It was trash. I don't even like Drake like that but he completely bodied him. And not even just on a track.

Did you guys hear how Drake donated $75k to Meek's old high school when Meek "only" gave $10k.

Drake slaughtered him and Meek now just looks like a fool and is a joke. The memes are brutal

curious. I guess this is better than a rehashing of catalog songs for an official Straight Outta Compton soundtrack. Though a thoughtful compilation could have been made as a companion piece. Still, in this era of streaming and oversaturated mixtape proliferation, who knows what the commercial response would have been to a traditional soundtrack LP.
I wonder how much of a sales bump will the NWA catalog get as a consequence of the movie. We'll see.
More hip-hop biopics need to be made: Public Enemy, Run DMC, Boogie Down Productions, Salt N Pepa, Beastie Boys.

All Meek Mill had to do was shut the f*** up. He picked a fight that should have never happened in the first place. This is a stain that will follow him forever, especially since people who didn't really know who he was will now know him as thst dude that Drake destroyed. When you have official twitters of burger chains joking you, it's a wrap.

Rick Ross is talking to Meek like: "You know you f***ed up right"

From reddit

Quote:
I know a bit about this track, considering it's been buzzing across pretty much all camps that are cool with Drake.
It is five minutes long.
It's produced by Boi-1da, Vinylz, Detail, & 40.
It's been in the making from the day after Meek's ghostwriter tweets to now.
It will premiere at 11:00 during Drake's OVO Fest set.
It is titled Three Strikes.
It will be the final diss from Drake. He's been putting the work into this one to ensure that Meek cannot respond to this. I can't tell you exactly what he's gonna do to ensure that, but let me tell you, its something he's been hinting at since the very first diss.

Best part about this whole Meek Mill/Drake feud is that one Toronto politician tweeting Meek saying he isn't allowed in the city.
