Well, them putting a false name on is odd, unless tophrman changed it himself. But I still think he's playing a non-comic character, even if it isn't Reese

Because lets say he is a reporter with the name Johnathan Pike
They reveal AMH is going to be playing Johnathan Pike. We can't really piece together anything other then he is Johnathan Pike. Now if his name was Reporter Pike that might make it easier to piece the plot together.

It's easier just to tell the actors to say absolutely nothing at this stage. And AMH has been on alot of shows recently, so the mystique adds up

I think that Reese is the most logical, from the info we have:

-Reese blackmails Fox concerning Batman's identity.
-AMH's character has enough money to afford a Lambo just like Bruce's
-AMH's character is going to announce Batman's identity on GCN.

Granted, this all hinges on if the HollywoodChicago report is true or not.

Well... I take this like Rutger Hauer's role of Earle in BB... basically a role that moderately affects the story and is more of a headache for Fox and Wayne than a real threat...

Then why keep the announcement of his character such a secret? Why not keep the STORY DETAILS a secret?

Announce he's playing Reese, and be done with it.

Yea, although the only reason the Lambo is linked to Reese is the report itself. AMH doesn't seem to have been at any of the media scenes that have been filmed, which seems odd for an investigative reporter character

They haven't announced any of the smaller roles. Can't really blame them for creating this storm

That's be a bit of a coincidence, though. His parents christen him Reporter and he grows up to be a journalist?
... oh, right.

I could see AMH hyping up his minor character for his own publicity . . . suggesting he's a heavy player and using all the secrecy to his advantage . . .

He's deep undercover. he disguises himself as a lamppost.
Who the hell is Lambo?

Announce he's playing Reese, and be done with it.
That would bring questions of the type "And who is Reese?" which could lead to him spilling the beans of a medium degree plot point without really wanting to...

I'm thinking more in that AMH is Joker, but under make-up and such so that he looks like a different person. Remember this disguise technique was in Batman #1, so it's not totally out there.

And it would be a very tightly kept secret if that's true. No one would expect it to be Joker under disguise.

I'm completely against the idea that AMH is the real Joker, and Heath is a decoy. That idea is just stupid.

AMH said he was in it throughout, he couldn't reveal his role because it would affect the story, and he didn't want to ruin the $200 million surprise. He certainly played a part in hyping it, especially as none of the rest of the supporting cast has talked about their roles, far as I can tell.

It's starting to seem more like he's this Reese character instead of Nygma.

That reminds me of when Topher Grace and THC were signed to SM3 and Greg from Yahoo Movies said that the villain was The Chameleon, and they were both going to be him depending on what he looked like.

Ew.

I'm not peeved by the secrecy....

But I am disappointed that AMH is playing such a blah character. This Reese character sounds like he'll be just another cliche obnoxious **** plotting to oust the superhero's identity.

I hope it's false - I'm holding out for the faux Batman.

You are MISQUOTING him and also using scooper websites quotes and confusing them with AMH.

The 200 million dollar surprise quote is being TOTALLY blown out of proportion by you people.

I don't remember that but it sounds like a funny situation.

Also AMH didn't really "hype" up his role. He had signed a confidentiality agreement and didn't know what he was aloud to say.

The "200 million dollar surprise" comment actually jives pretty well with this report. Batman's identity could be considered a 200 million dollar surprise.

That doesn't apply at all to his role though. And the audience already knows who Batman is, so it doesn't even apply there. I don't think it fits.

No, he quoted him pretty accurately.

Interesting find later in that article:
Quote:
"They're shooting in London, Chicago and Hong Kong. My next dates are in Chicago, the third week of August with Morgan, then I get to go back to London."
Another inch in the confirmation process.

As I've been saying before, unless AMH is revealed to be the real Joker or the real Batman, absolutely no part he plays is a $200 Million surprise.

Nope, as shaggyaggie shows, he definitely helped. Yes, it's been discussed ad nauseum, and is clearly over-hyped at this stage, but he ain't totally innocent.
And please don't describe me as one of 'you people.' I have barely taken part in this debate, I'm far more concerned with other aspects of the movie.
